This is completely random but... my boyfriend went to "A"s' Academy and met a chapter president (I wish I could remember where he was from!) who said that his chapter is planning to kayak to convention!
All I know is that they live very far away from New Orleans. If they pull the whole thing together, I think it would be an awesome time and a cool story to tell once they got there!

I just found this info - the South Dakota State Chapter will be canoeing from Brookings, South Dakota to New Orleans, Louisiana. Their trip will cover 2,300 miles of river, take two months to complete, and includes the Big Sioux River, Missouri River, and Mississippi River. They will be raising money for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. You can see their website (and donate) here: http://www.canoeingforthecure.webs.com/
This is the same chapter that bicycled to convention in 2008. Needless to say, I think they're awesome.

^^^This is why you're GC DX Sweetheart - you know all of the coolest stuff, lol.
I know that last Convention (Las Vegas) they had two brothers who biked across country to raise money for The V Foundation bike into the opening ceremony - I'm not sure how they could get them to kayak in, but that would be awesome!
