Shirts!

I was just wondering what different people do with their old shirts. I have a ton from formals, date parties, mixers, house party, etc. but I'm a senior and don't need a closet full of SK shirts! I've passed down some, sold some, but the ones I have are the ones I want to keep because something special happened at that event. (Like, my first formal, the first date party I took the BF to, big/lil reveal shirt for my littles)

So...how can I keep them but not have them stuff in a box/taking up my closet!?!?

Also, my cousin's chapter in FL are thinking about doing t-shirt swaps with other universities. Has anyone else ever done this? What do you think about the idea?

In our house, we have a really cute quilt made of various t-shirts from bid days, formals, etc.

I would recommend a tshirt quilt as well to memorialize your special shirts. They are vibrant and fun as the shirts themselves have large graphics. The sashing and backing fabric could either be school colors http://www.bearpawquilting.com/cgi-bin/Store/store.cgi?&keywords=University%20of%20Tennessee, sorority colors, or perhaps a design that incorporates your org's symbols or a general interest of yours.

Here is a link to instructions. http://greekchat.com/gcforums/showth...=tshirt+quilts

I know I'm forum crashing- I'm sorry!

But we have done a t-shirt trade with other schools- we did it at our executive officer training. I thought it was a blast, and some other schools had really great designs that we were able to trade for. It's fun being the only one at your school to have a certain shirt!

letters

I have a question on wearing our letters...I have been out of college for over 10 years now and I can't remember the details on this... (I was a Sigma Kappa in the Theta Theta chapter at Albright College in Reading, PA.) What are the guidelines for alumnae when wearing letters?

No different than for collegians. Wear your letters whenever you want, as long as you're not doing something shameful, like a wet t-shirt contest.

We are updating the Code of Conduct at Upsilon chapter currently to include a clause about not wearing letters while intoxicated, to parties, not swearing while wearing them, etc. I'd be interested to know what other chapter's stipulations are?

No drinking while wearing letters or smoking.

Our entire campus PHA stresses that women should not wear letters while intoxicated, but my sorority's RMP does dictate that letters cannot be worn while in situtations where you are drinking.

When I was a collegian, our CoC stated we could not drink in our letters (which was interpretted by everyone that we couldn't wear them to a bar, but it wasn't actually stated that way). Additionally, sisters had to smoke sitting down if they had letters (basically, this was to keep sisters from smoking while walking across campus carrying thier letter bags). Finally, at the house, sisters had to go out back to smoke- no smoking on the front porch or in front of the house.

In the Beta Tau chapter, letters of any sort (including Lavaliers) are not to be worn while working out, smoking, drinking, illicit activities, or as "scrubbing" clothing. It may seem extreme, but I completely understand our exec's choices in this matter!
