Sure, you’ve got talent…But do you have what it takes to win it all?
As long as your talent is performing arts-based (musician, vocalist, comedian, juggler, ventriloquist, etc.), consider this an open call to submit an audition video and try your luck this summer in the Lone Star State. Five (5) contest finalists will be selected from all entries received and they will be offered the chance to perform their act LIVE on July 14, 2008 at the 63rd Grand Chapter.
Only one (1) will be declared Overall Winner and take home the prize…

Rules and Regulations (summary)

1. Participants must be 18 years of age.
2. Participants must be initiated members of Sigma Nu with all forms and fees paid to the General Fraternity.
3. Only undergraduate members will be considered for the title of Overall Winner; however, alumni members who submit audition pieces may be asked to perform during Grand Chapter in an exhibition capacity.
4. All contest entries must showcase talent in the area of the performing arts.
5. All contest entries must be video submissions successfully posted to the Sigma Nu LIVE YouTube Group Page.
6. All contest entries must be received by 12:00 PM ET (Noon) on April 25, 2008 to be eligible for judging.
7. All contest entries are limited to eight (8) minutes in total length.
8. All contest entries must be tasteful and in keeping with the values and principles of the Fraternity.
9. All eligible entries received (*) will be judged by a panel of qualified judges on the following criteria: overall talent/skill, creativity, originality and accuracy in execution. The four (4) entries that receive the highest score will be declared "Finalists." Additionally, the one (1) entry that received the most discussion and/or highest public ranking on YouTube, as determined by the judges, will also be declared a Finalist. All five (5) Finalists will be invited to the 63rd Grand Chapter to perform their acts live on July 14, 2008.
10. Contest participants selected as Finalists to perform during Grand Chapter, may not represent their chapter as a credentialed, voting delegate.

• * The Judges and General Fraternity reserve the right to refuse contest entries and/or performances if they believe participants are not performing within the expectations of the Fraternity’s policies or principles.

How to Enter (summary)

During the contest period (12:00 AM ET February 1, 2008 through 12:00 PM ET April 25, 2008):

1. Film or tape an audition piece depicting you participating in a performing arts-based talent or act of your choosing. Entries must not exceed eight (8) minutes in total length.
2. Upload your video (*) to YouTube and title it "Sigma Nu LIVE: [last name] Entry". Please keep all Broadcast and Sharing Options on their default settings.
3. Add your video entry to the Sigma Nu LIVE Group Page
4. Send an e-mail to gc.info@sigmanu.org with your full name, chapter designation, telephone number and the title of your contest entry video.
5. Once reviewed and approved, it will be made available for public viewing, comments and rating.

• * It is agreed by anyone submitting an entry that the submission of an entry is an agreement to the terms and conditions of this contest and that submittal is pursuant to these same terms and conditions.

Judging and Overall Winner (summary)

All eligible Entries received will be judged by a panel of qualified judges on the following criteria: overall talent/skill, creativity, originality and accuracy in execution.
Judges' decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest.
The four (4) Entries that receive the highest score as determined by the Judges will be declared "Finalists." Additionally, the one (1) Entry that receives the most discussion and/or highest public ranking on YouTube in the Sigma Nu LIVE Group and not already selected by the Judges will also be declared a Finalist.
All five (5) Finalists will be invited to the 63rd Grand Chapter to perform their acts live on July 14, 2008, to compete for the title of "Overall Winner."
The Finalists will be notified by telephone, mail and/or e-mail by May 25, 2008, and will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility. In the event a Finalist is determined to be ineligible after notification is attempted, Finalist status may be awarded to another Entry to perform in Austin, TX.
All confirmed Finalists will be provided with three (3) nights lodging (Sunday – Tuesday) and round trip transportation to Austin, TX. All lodging and transportation decisions are at the discretion of the General Fraternity. Additionally, all confirmed Finalists that perform in Austin, TX will receive one (1) single meal ticket to the Grand Chapter Closing Banquet.
One (1) Overall Winner will be selected from the Finalists and publicly named such by no later than the 63rd Grand Chapter Closing Banquet.


PRIZE
The Overall Winner will be awarded a "Prize" for their participation in the Contest.
All Prize details, including the selection of what the Prize will be, are at the sole discretion of Sigma Nu Fraternity, Inc.

I am SOOOOOO entering into this contest with guys from my chapter... anyone else throwing their hat into the ring for this one? This looks like a ton of fun waiting to happen.
