Area Panhellenic Information Sessions and Events for Fall 2013/Spring 2014 Recruitmen
There have already been a few questions about this and I know ours are fast approaching, so I thought I would get the ball rolling on listing area Alumnae Panhellenic Association information sessions for high school seniors interested in rushing. To quote a thread started by exlurker in previous years:
Area Alumnae Panhellenics in many places --- especially Texas --- will be offering information sessions for high school seniors interested in Fall 2013 or Spring 2014 NPC sorority recruitment.
They can be especially helpful for "first in family to think of going Greek," or "new to city / region / live in small town / don't know of any sorority women" situations.
Mothers (and dads) are often welcome, too.
These sessions can help answer questions about recruitment. They're a good way to network and get assistance in finding recommendations to sororities, too.
Typically these sessions are scheduled in February, March, April --- check with local Alumnae Panhellenics and be alert for notices in local newspapers.
In my opinion: whatever you may think about the idea/purpose of recommendations, or getting prepared in advance for recruitment, these forums, sessions, etc. can be a godsend. A potential new member, or a mom, can pick up truly useful info and maybe make a new friend or two. Moms who are sorority alumnae can brush up on their knowledge of how recruitment is handled "today" at the college your daughter, granddaughter, etc. plans to attend.
I hope sorority alumnae will post info about more upcoming sessions.

Learn about registering for recruitment with PASA and on your chosen campus, discover the "dos and don'ts" of the process, get your questions answered, and meet the many sorority members of the Panhellenic Association of San Antonio. FORT WALTON BEACH — Deadline for filing sorority-recruitment information forms is July 1, the Fort Walton Beach Panhellenic Alumnae Association stated.
The association writes recommendation letters for local girls starting college in the fall and interested in joining a sorority.
Local girls interested in the recruitment process can learn more at www.fwbpanhellenic.org. Information regarding recommendation letter requests and the recruitment information form also is available there.
The association will not host an information party this spring due to past low attendance.

Mobile, Alabama
There will be a separate Panhellenic Recruitment Fair in Mobile. It will be Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2pm to 4pm at the Urban Emporium 260 Dauphin Street in Downtown Mobile.
If you can't make the Fairhope event, check out this one. Or if you can't make this one be sure to get to the one in Fairhope.
Bring a one color photo and copy of your resume for each NPC chapter at the university you will be attending in the fall.
It is my understanding this is a new event in Mobile and I hope there is a good turnout.
