Mom/son wedding dance song?

What was the song at your wedding for the groom and his mother? I've been looking online and some are so random and make no sense. Daddy/Daughter songs are much easier to come by.

Everyone uses "Mama" by Boys II Men down here. It's a tearjerker.

There's a local group called Na Leo and they have a wonderful song called You Don't Remember that moms and sons like to dance to at weddings.

Although we're not married yet, I think my fiance is going to use "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. Of course he hasn't been too helpful in the music dept.

At my wedding, my mom and I danced to "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. I agree, though, that it was tough to figure out a good song.

That's what we used as well. I have also seen "Wind Beneath my Wings" by Bette Midler and "The Story of My Life" by Neil Diamond.

I will have to check out OTW's suggestion when I get home since my work computer doesn't stream worth a darn.

Lately, I've been seeing some awful ones around here, it's really disappointing that people ignore the standards. Stuff like "Touch My Body" by Mariah Carey should be on the short list.

Also, "Tears in Heaven" by Clapton.

Not everything has to be "At Last" by Etta James, Slowy McOldfashionpants. Let the kids dance it up.

LOL -- my thoughts exactly. I think it would be nice for my mom and me to dance to something a little faster, but Mariah? Really? No thanks.

It's only a matter of time before Bubba Sparxxx - Ms. New Booty becomes a wedding staple

Guys, I'll let you in on something . . . the Mariah song is not even close to the most inappropriate for a mother/son dance in that post.

Holy crap, dudes - buy a book and read it.

Touch my body
Put me on the floor
Wrestle me around
Play with me some more
Touch my body
Throw me on the bed
I just wanna make you feel
Like you never did.
Touch my body
Let me wrap my thighs
All around your waist
Just a little taste
Touch my body
Know you love my curves
Come on and give me what I deserve
And touch my body.

Sorry...my mother and I don't have that kind of relationship.

ok, so i was thoroughly traumatized by what my husband wanted to dance with his mom to.

amazing grace.

the only thing that saved it was that he made a really pretty speech before they danced explaining why it was significant to them. and i was baffled by it for weeks but didn't want to be all, "YOU CAN'T DANCE TO A HYMN" when he was set on it....so there they went. and then me and my dad danced to "mack the knife"....pretty darn priceless if you ask me.

We did combined mother/son father/daughter dance (so people would only have to sit through one dance) to Unforgettable. I think.
