University of Kentucky Fall 2013
Hello GC! I was a moderate user back in college, but went on a 3 year hiatus due to this silly thing called grad school. However, do not fear! I am back and chomping at the bit to know how UK recruitment is this year. Word on the street is that they are doing all of open house today and have...wait for it...TWENTY ONE (21!!!!!!ISDJFOSJGLDSFJGW^#%#) ROUNDS TODAY ALONE. I cannot even imagine.
Commence UK recruitment discussion.

Yes, that is true. My daughter is a sophomore this year and when I talked to her today she said they have 1309 girls going through!!! They just finished for today. It's been a long day for sure but sounds like the girls are having fun!
Excited to see how her house does this year!

I have two references in UK recruitment this year. Both are legacies.

I have quite a few hometown girls rushing this year as usual. One is a sophomore, with stellar grades and a lot of campus activities. Does UK have an upperclass quota?

I honestly don't know. I don't remember it being something my chapter ever discussed explicitly. I know we usually had 3-6 sophomores in our 70-ish person NM classes. That's probably not very helpful!

Holy crap! If every girl makes it to preference, quota would be approximately 100.

I don't think that they do, but I would like to see them have one. Sophomores do get bids as do juniors, but it is a recruitment that highly favors freshman. They need to be a damn good upperclassman.

Word from my daughter's chapter is that quota is expected to come in around 80 +/-. A great showing! She said the weather was cooperative and the PMN's were really, really 1st rate. She said they could fill 2 pledge classes with fantastic girls. Successful on all fronts from the sound of it.

I know a quadruple legacy that got cut! Hopefully I was able to talk her mom in to talking to her daughter about staying in the game and not quitting because the legacy chapter released the daughter.
