Duck Dynasty
I saw this for the first time yesterday. I can't believe it, but it was great! These guys are obviously more well bred and well-educated than they act but they are masters of comedic (?) timing. I felt for long suffering older brother Willie. And everyone has their Uncle Si, lol.

Happy, happy, happy. This is one funny show. I'd like to meet them just as long as they didn't try to serve me frogs legs.

You're right, Carnation. Daddy Phil went to La Tech and played football with Terry Bradshaw. He taught school for a while before he went in the duck calling business. There are 4 boys but not all of them are a part of the show. They are cousins to a friend of mine so I have been following them from the beginning. I think it is one of the best "reality" shows on TV. It has quite a cult following here in Texas, as you can well imagine.

Phil supposedly was a better QB than Bradshaw but had no interest in going pro.

The NFL would have interfered with duck season, that's what he said on Leno. I love this show. I got on board last season. I am impressed with the teenagers who all say "Yes ma'am" and "Yes sir" to adults. Even if some of it is scripted or exaggerated for the camera, I'll take it over the mindless Jersey Shore crap any day.

Phil is also on the inspirational speaker's circuit. He travels around the United States speaking to church groups about his faith.

I just watched this show for the first time the other day.. it's hilarious!
The only thing I can't stand- Jase (spelling?) sounds like someone.. from another show, I believe.. maybe a cartoon? I don't know.. I can't put my finger on who it is exactly..

AST, I've thought the same thing. His voice is so familiar. He's my favorite though, along with Uncle Si!

So Blazercheer's boss, a local doctor from Louisiana, was over here the other night and someone mentioned the show. She said, "Those guys are my sister's in-laws!" So funny!

I really like this show (and find the Christmas album cute) but may boycott until fools learn to stop alienating power minorities. This isn't about "politically correct". This is about "keep some things to yourself" and "what is your damn point?" GQ knew this guy was just rambling and they intentionally let him bury himself. Funny but not funny.

Saw a FB post from an in laws best friend going on and on about how the only people who don't have freedom of speech are the CHRISTIANS because the LIBERALS even when what the CHRISTIANS are saying jives with the MUSLIM beliefs (i.e. homosexuality). It made my head hurt, but I think the essence was "poor white people." Also, the spiel ended with a comment about how Phil should pull the plug on the show because that would show A&E. (as if the network is worried about generating more publicity for this show.)

@ amIblue? Most people are clueless regarding the doctrine of other religions. If they took the time to learn about other religions they would find many similarities with their own religion. I think we've discussed this before on GC (religions started off as cults and can still be perceived as cults; humans are a trip and will use religion to justify their ignorance). Christianity is not the only religion that supposedly perceives homosexuality negatively. I disagree with all religions regarding many things and those many things are the ties that bind different religions.
