On this day, the 12th anniversary of our Founding, I'm thinking of the following people:
The Founders of Alpha Sigma Kappa - Women in Technical Studies
You had the foresight and the dedication to ensure that friendship and sisterly feelings strengthened into the bond of Sisterhood...from Minnesota, to Oklahoma, Kentucky, and now Texas, your legacy resonates. Thank you for your love and dedication - you have touched so many women's lives.
My Sisters who established the National Organization, and helped make my Chapter:
Sisters of the the Alpha Chapter, my fellow Beta Chapter Charter Sisters and Alpha Class Sisters
Another big step in our growing legacy...so much love, so much hard work. I am stronger for the love we bear each other, in the name of Sisterhood.
The Beta Active Chapter Sisters
You make me
so proud - especially of late!
My Sisters everywhere
It's humbling, every time I think about it, that I share a bond with women I have yet to meet. I hope, wherever we all are, that we are excelling in our dreams and aspirations, and promoting the causes we hold dear.
I'm also thinking of another group of people - the
greek community. It's because of the high standards and ideals that established greek organizations embody, that more and more new greek organizations are being formed.
Forget the overwhelming negative press, and the sterotypes - more and more people are choosing to become greek because of the potential for positive legacies evidenced by well-established fraternities and sororities, rather than in spite of the highly scrutinized negatives.
To all greeks - thank you for your legacy - it encourages
all of us.
12 Years of the Pride!
