Woman Killed at the CNN Center in Atlanta

In what police are calling a domestic dispute, a woman was shot to death at the CNN Center in downtown Atlanta.

A CNN security guard then shot and seriously injured the alleged gunman.

Obviously, there are a lot more details at CNN.com and at the other major news organization websites.

I saw it when the story was breaking news on CNN earlier today. Scary stuff. It is freaky when CNN is the center of their own breaking news.

People die violently all the time.

This one is only news because there was a camera to watch.

I wish CNN would cover actual news. This belongs in the tabloids.

CNN is pretty biased towards news in the south and Atlanta especially, which I sometimes like. Despite its conservative slant, Fox News is very NYC and doesn't give much attention to anything unless "celebrity" or "murder trial" is in the headline. I think this is actually a reasonable story for CNN to cover. Its a lot better than their normal crap in the daytime, which is obscure international or health news that nobody cares about with the occasional couple minutes of Bush-bashing tossed in.

I won't fault CNN for covering the story. It's not at all uncommon to see coverage of a shooting in a public place like this one.

What I question is that almost every story I read pointed out that this was across the street from the park where the bomb went off during the Atlanta Olympics.

What does that have to do with a domestic killing?
