Experience with Autism??

Hi!! My first day of my new job was yesterday doing TSS (Theraputic Staff Support). I have worked with behavioral disorders for a little over a year as a MHT (Mental Health Tech) in a partial hospitalization program for children. Those of you who work in education or psychology in any way are most likely familar with the roles of these positions. The first client that my new company gave me is Autistic. I warned them that I had no prior experience with Autism during the inital interview, but they didn't seem to minc. Although I am excited to work with this child, I am a little apprehensive and even a little scared that I wont' know what to do with them. I feel as if Autism is so different from behavioral disorders that its hard to even compare the two.
My question is: Does anyone have any information that they are willing to share about Autism or TSS?? I would love anything that you could suggest! Thanks!!
