Thanks! Yeah, I definitely love my tattoo. It represents something that means so much to me: my sorority. Let us know when you do decide to get it.

Are you serious?! One of my biological sister's friends got one when she was 16-ish. I couldn't have gotten one at that age. I got my first one when I was 18 and even I think that was a young age (for me).

Valkyrie, LibraSoul and SATX*APhi!
I am considering a third one, too! How about you all come out to Maryland, I'll put you up in my spare rooms, and we'll have a ladies day out. You know: shopping, lunch and the tattoo parlor!

I plan on getting my sorority flower -the daffodil tattooed on my ankle, with my letters in its leaves. Simple, yet sophisticated.

...it is especially associated with the Celtic tribes.
These symbols are called triskele or triskelion.
The Triskele is used to symbolize the cycles of life with in the three fold, or three spheres of influnce in the material world.
The three spheres (Land, Sea and Sky) represents the three aspects of the material world that are contained in every object. Each aspect ever flowing outward and always returning to the point from which it started.
I've also heard it represents the union between the past the present and the future...
Am thinking in a brown-amber color on my lower back 2-3inchess wide/up-down.
Thoughts?

My sister had a henna tattoo of a Celtic symbol that is slightly more ornate than the tattoo that you want. She kept saying that she wanted a tattoo, but she was afraid so henna was the best option for her. She didn't like it and washed it away. I say try the henna first. If you like it, you can always get a permanent tattoo. If you don't like it, no harm done.
BTW, are you Irish? I have not heard of anyone who isn't Irish getting a Celtic symbol tattoo. If you aren't, prepare yourself for people thinking you are. Not that the whole world will have access to your lower back.

Yes, I am Irish. Well half Irish, half French. My French last name means the sea, so I like that part of the symbol as well.
Was thinking I may try henna first, but then again, I may just jump in. My thinking is, lower back, its not like its right out there for me and everyone to see, so I think I would not regret it as I might one in a more obvious place...

Well.. I DID IT!!!!
Saturday was my birthday, so I decided that was as good a time as any to do it.
I LOVE IT! I am actually surprised how much I love it. Its about 2 1/4" X 2 1/4" on my lower back. I had them do it in a deep amber color.
I'll post pic soon.
So my question to all of you w tattoos--how long do I have to keep putting the ointment on it, and when will it stop stinging?
