I think I've decided!!!
I already have a butterfly tattoo on my mid-lower back, so I was thinking of something small that I could get somewhere else on me. I think I've decided on an ivy leaf. I would get it on my foot, half way between my ankle and pinky toe, sort of where the Dixie Chicks have their tattoos. This wouldn't be a problem while in professional dress, I don't think, because I'd never be wearing shoes that showed that part of my foot.
What do you all think?
BTW, my little sis and I will be getting the same tattoo and since my big sis already has an A-Phi tattoo, she won't be getting any other tattoos. I don't know if my little will get the ivy leaf in the same place, but probably not. My little and I will be getting our tattoos in July some time.

I am thinking about getting tattoo #2. Me and my bestfriend got matching tattoo's over a year ago and we have been talking about getting another one done together. I think it is going to be a 4 leaf clover.

Tatoos are sooooo addictive! I have a celtic spiral on my lower right back. Luckily it's fairly small and only black so it was FAST. I'm saving up to get the 2nd and third ones... probably a Polish falcon and a black and gold kite.
One of my sisters got a pansy with KAO letters on it... it was incredibly pretty but I think it's best to keep your letters non-permanently attached to your body. That way if you're doing something you shouldn't be doing in your letters (not like any of us ever do... *wink*) you don't have to worry about it.

I have small sun with crossing rays on the small of my back. It's done in royal blue, it's really cute.

i've been wanting to get a tattoo for some time now... but i want something meaningful, so it has taken me some time to decide on what. i love celtic history and symbols, two of my favorite are the claddagh, which symbolizes love, friendship and loyalty, and the trinity knot which symbolizes neverending love, so i want a tatoo with one of or both of these symbols on my lower back. i was thinking something like this necklace:
or just the knot (top) or the claddagh (bottom) - what do you think?

K...reading all of these posts is making me want a tatoo! (I've always kind of wanted one...). The problem is that I have a super super low pain threshold (i'm talking 2 year old child here). Is there a place on the body that is less painfull than others?
I've heard tats that are close to the spine kill. But then again, I've heard people who have gotten them across the spine and said it didn't hurt anymore than anywhere else.
Where is the least painfull place to get a tat? if there is such a thing....

Both of my tattoos are on my arms, but one barely reaches up to my shoulder and neither one really hurt much at all. It was just annoying because they are both colored and they took so long to do. It isn't that fact that colored tattoos are more painful, it's the fact of the filling in that can be painful, and I'm talking about an annoying pain. Not the "OMG, I"m going to pass out and die pain," I'm talking about the "would this hurry up, it's getting annoying, scraping pain."

I FINALLY GOT MY A-PHI TATTOO!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll just go ahead and post what I posted in the A-Phi forum.
---------------------------------------------------
I just walked in the door from getting my second tattoo!!! Picture the new member badge. (It is an ivy leaf with the letter A on the left side of the leaf and the letter Phi on the right side of the leaf.) Go to http://www.creighton.edu/AlphaPhi/symbols.html and scroll about half way down. The badge is pictured on the right had side and is silver. Okay, that's what I got, although the ivy leaf is maroon and the A - Phi letters are not colored (they are my skin color). It is prettttttty!!!!!!! Oh yeah, I got it on my foot, about mid-way between my pinky toe and my ankle. It is at a 45 degree angleand is the size of about a quarter, maybe a little bit bigger. I will have to take a picture and post it.
I am super excited about it!!!!!!!!! I called my big on the way to the parlor and she was giving me ideas, but I know she wasn't taking me seriously. I called after it was over with and she was all excited and congratulated me. I LOVE MY BIG!!!!! She is the best big in the whole wide world. I would never, ever wish for another!!!
It wasn't really a "spur of the moment" type of deal, per se. Today at work, around 4pm-ish, I was in this hyper mood and called my biological sisiter and told her that when I got out of work I wanted to go and get a tattoo. Fast-forward to tonight. We were going to go out to a club with a whole bunch of people I work with, but we ended up staying home b/c we were all tired. At 1:30am, my sister busted out with, "So let's go and get your tattoo." I got the pictures, and we took off. The rest is history!
Ohhhh, I am so excited you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay, SATX! Tattoos are addictive, aren't they?
I had such a blast with mine. I posted about it on the Kappa forum, but I'll post again here too. I got it over Labour Day weekend when I went down to visit KappaStarGirl. I walked into her basement and she said, "So, do you want to get your tattoo tonight or tomorrow?" I'd only been thinking about it; I hadn't really decided, so I said, "Tomorrow," just to give myself some time to think. So tomorrow rolled around and I decided that yes, I wanted to do it. We spent a while talking about which design I should get and we went after supper to do it. It didn't take very long and it didn't hurt at all. It's our pledge pin with our letters in sky & sea underneath. It's on (not above) my ankle, down near my foot, so shoes & socks cover it up. My parents are still a little curious as to why I wore jeans the last three weeks of break, but they don't know about it, nor will they until I am financially independent.
Valkyrie, did you go to Jade Dragon? That's where KappaStarGirl took me, and I thought it was great.
