My parents still haven't seen mine. Had to cover it up with makeup last week at a wedding where I was wearing a short dress. Yeah, I know I'm a wuss not wanting to show them, but they don't know about my nose piercing, either. I'm thinking that I'll tell them after I'm financially independent.

Lol, I know what you mean. This is me exactly. I'm walking around in long pants so my parents don't see it.
I shouldn't care what they think, but I just don't don't want to go through the "I'm so disappointed in you. Why would you do that?' drama.

Bump
Still don't have pics of my tattoos yet (my scanner isn't working and I am to lazy to go to a shop and them put it on a disc for me) but soon.
I haven't told my parents about them yet, but the other day as I was getting out the car my shirt came up and my mum saw my tattoo. She asked what was on my back and I was like nothing. Then she asked me why I did that and I got the "I am so disappointed in you, you'll regret it when you're my age" lecture. So I said to her when I am your age who will be looking at my back? And she said what about your husband so I said to her well if he doesn't like my tattoos he shouldn't have married me.
Turns out she wasn't mad, a little upset. But her co-worker thinks I'm cool
She did tell me not to show my dad...I think i'll take her advice on this one...he will kill me
However...she still doesn't know about my other 2

Lady Pi Phi-- My mom isn't thrilled about mine either, and I am 34. LOL. Her 55 year old best friend, however, thinks its the coolest thing she's ever seen. Which is why I let Linda in on it before I got it done.
Oh well. They are our bodies, we will live with our choices. Personally, I don't think I will ever regret mine, because, like you said, when I am old and wrinkled, the only person looking at my back is gonna be mr amycat. And he has a tattoo of his own that will get old and wrinkled too.

I am totally bumping this thread.
My friends and I have decided to get tattoos this saturday.
I want to get one of a monkey on my back. Just a very small monkey. Not a lot of a detal. More like an outline/shadow of a monkey. I want it all black.
The monkey is my Chinese year symbol.
P.S I still have to post pics of my tattoos. I'm going to try and do it tonight because I have a digital camera now.

What a timely bump!
I got my thierd and fourth tattoos the wednesday before last: a small daisy on the inside of my right wrist and three daisies and leaves on the top of my right foot, right below my 4th and 5th toes.

I got my third tattoo about a month ago. It's on my lower (not too low) back and it's a scroll/calligraphy design that's pretty intricate. It's 6.5 by 5 inches. Pretty big, at least for me. But it would look bad if it were any smaller.

Those sound awesome. I've been wanting to get a little tiny tattoo on the inside of my wrist, but I'm not sure what I'd put there.

I have two:
A butterfly on the top of my right foot about 1" from the inside ankle. A friend and I went and got them our freshman year of college after finishing our first final. It's a tribute to one of my favorite songs--Dancing Lucinda by The Nadas
A 5-petaled red flower on my lower left back second semester my freshman year. Kind of random, really, no special meaning. Another friend wanted to get one, so I decided I wanted another one. It's maybe 2" by 3"
No pictures of them, though.
As much as I love my tats, I think I'm done.
Do any of you who have tattoos on your lower back ever get little twinges when you move the wrong way. Every so often I'll get just a little twinge of pain if I move wrong and it's right where my tattoo is. Just wondering if it was coincidence.

No pain on my back with my tattoo, but I found out I am allergic to the red ink in my wine carnation tattoo. It's ver mild so I'm not too worried. It just itches sometimes.
