Hashish is hash and it's not the weed but the resin that's formed from the flower clusters of the plant. It's what's also left in the bottom ofan...eh-hem...smoking apparatus if a person were to smoke weed in a pipe...kinda tarlike and sticky. It's waaaay more potent than marijuana, itself.

I agree with folks though that I am not eating a cake that's left at my door...period. That's like the professor eating the brownies in "How High" with Method Man and Redman. He just founf them at the doorste and started grubbin'.

Thanks you CT4. I'm sorry, I don't eat everyones food and even when I was in elementary school, sometimes treats would go into the trash, I pretend that I ate them, or I would pretend that I don't like them. Just because its laying out there does not mean that I am going to eat it.

Errant Valentine Text Message Nearly Causes Split
Mon Feb 16, 9:23 AM ET Add Oddly Enough - Reuters to My Yahoo!

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (Reuters) - An intimate Valentine's Day (news - web sites) text message nearly caused a Malaysian couple to split when it landed on the wrong mobile phone number, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

A 27-year-old man and his wife of two months were taking a romantic drive around a park in Seremban, south off Kuala Lumpur, when his phone beeped just after midnight, The Sunday Star said.

He asked her to retrieve the message, which read: "Darling, I really miss you, always thinking of you even when you are not here tonight beside me in the bed, I am waiting, lots and kisses and hugs - Jane."

The wife demanded her husband stop the car, accused him of infidelity and left for her parents' home in a taxi. She refused to take his calls and his father-in-law later told him she would be filing for a divorce. DAYUM

It took 12 frantic hours before the sender of the message was traced. She called the wife with an explanation, and the couple made up with a hug in front of their families.

Wow. This morning the Vermont Teddy Bear Co. sent me somebody else's gift: "Allison, Be my Valentine, I love being yours! David" Y'all, I knew this pajama-gram wasn't mine because the slippers, the pajamas and the ling-a-ree wouldn't begin to fit me. I called Customer Service and explained. In the meantime, I hope "David" isn't in the doghouse!

I received my proper gift on Friday, a "Blue Without You" bear from said company.

Woman Lived with Sister's Corpse for Months
1 hour, 42 minutes ago Add Oddly Enough - Reuters to My Yahoo!

DUBLIN (Reuters) - An elderly Irishwoman shared a room with her sister's corpse for up to a year and sometimes slept with it in the same bed, newspapers reported Tuesday.

Mary Ellen Lyons never told anyone that her sister Agnes had died, the reports said. Even their brother Michael, who lived in the same remote bungalow in rural western Ireland, did not know.

An inquest heard Monday that Agnes probably died in 2002 -- possibly in September -- at the age of 70.

However, her body was only discovered in August 2003 when Mary Ellen fell ill and had to be taken to hospital.

"I have tried to remember when Agnes died but I just can't remember," Mary Ellen said in a statement read out at the inquest. "I remember getting Christmas cards at Christmas 2002 but I cannot remember if Agnes was dead at the time."

The inquest heard the three siblings lived in "a world apart" and that the sisters were deeply religious.

After Agnes' death, Mary Ellen sometimes slept in the same double bed as the corpse and sometimes in the bathroom. Michael stayed in his own bedroom and the living room of the tiny house and never entered his sisters' room.

"There is no way that Michael would open the door of a woman's room," a neighbor told the inquest. "They wouldn't even watch the television if there was a woman on it. They were from a different era."

This family sounds straight up looney tune.

Some people need to be beat, plain and simple. LOL

Edited to add: Now that I think of it, how can a person even sleep in the same room with a corpse - w/in a week the body would have been de-composed.

Not to mention what happens even before decomposition.

Red face Doctors Find 350 Coins in Patient's Belly

By JEFF DONN, Associated Press Writer

BOSTON - French doctors were taken aback when they discovered the reason for a patient's sore, swollen belly: He had swallowed around 350 coins — $650 worth — along with assorted necklaces and needles.

The 62-year-old man came to the emergency room of Cholet General Hospital in western France in 2002. He had a history of major psychiatric illness, was suffering from stomach pain, and could not eat or move his bowels.

His family warned doctors that he sometimes swallowed coins, and a few had been removed from his stomach in past hospital visits.

Still, doctors were awed when they took an X-ray. They discovered an enormous opaque mass in his stomach that turned out to weigh 12 pounds — as much as some bowling balls. It was so heavy it had forced his stomach down between his hips.

Five days after his arrival, doctors cut him open and removed his badly damaged stomach with its contents. He died 12 days later from complications.

One of his doctors, intensive care specialist Dr. Bruno Francois, said the patient had swallowed the coins — both French currency and later euros — over about a decade. His family tried to keep coins and jewelry away from him.

"When he was invited and came in some homes, he liked to steal coins and eat them," Francois said.

The case history of the French patient, whose name was withheld, was reported in Thursday's New England Journal of Medicine (news - web sites).

The patient's rare condition is called pica, a compulsion to eat things not normally consumed as food. Its name comes from the Latin word for magpie, a bird thought to eat just about anything.

Pica can take the form of eating dirt, ashes, chalk, hair, soap, toothbrushes, burned matches and many other things. Francois once treated a patient who ate forks. Most such objects are small enough to pass on their own, but some must be removed by doctors.

The condition is perhaps best known in children and pregnant women but is also sometimes linked to psychiatric illness.

A few details of the Frenchman's case were presented Jan. 1 along with the X-ray — but no explanation of the stomach mass — as a challenge to New England Journal of Medicine readers in a fixture called "A Medical Mystery."

Dr. Lindsey Baden, an editor at the journal, reported that 666 readers in 73 countries — mostly doctors or doctors-in-training — contacted the journal to try to solve the mystery. Almost 90 percent settled on diagnoses consistent with pica, but only 8 percent correctly identified coins.

"This case serves as a reminder of important factors that should be considered in the care of patients who are mentally impaired," Baden wrote.

I am tripping at how far his stomach had descended.

Where do you people LIVE, lol!

In NYC he swallowed half of most people's rent AT BEST. He swallowed 1/3 of one of my coworker's rent, and she lives in JERSEY (which is crackish IMO, but oh well).

I live in a farm town in the middle of nowhere. $650 is my rent, cellphone, house phone, cable, electricity, grocery, renter's insurance and gas money for a month.
