An observation...
I noticed that the two NPC groups NBO is inviting are Tri Sigma and AZD. These are two of the younger NPC groups. I believe that the younger groups are more diverse than some of the groups that have their stronghold in the "Old South." Admittedly, while my chapter is very diverse, the majority of our chapters are in areas where the majority of women in the Greek system are white.
I think that you have done a good job selecting the right NPC groups for your purpose.

Just to set the record straight - Alpha Xi Delta was founded in 1893, making her the 12th oldest of the 26 current NPC groups. So by my reconning that makes Alpha Xi older than more than half of the NPC groups.

Sorry to have my info wrong. I guess my point was more that it is one of the more diverse groups, if you will excuse the generalization.

NBO is looking for is diversity in a sorority. From what I have experienced, sororities reflect the diversity of a campus. There are benefits in belonging to a local, national, international, NPC, NPHC, and MCGLO. Being in a sorority is about the bonds of sisterhood and the good times that you share with these women. Do your research and choose wisely. Good luck!

Hi everyone,
We're extending bids to two girls tonight, and I'm almost positive they'll accept. We're all friends, so it should be nice. Other than that, my life is ok...boy trouble as usual, but that's to be expected. My new job is going well, but I haven't really gotten going yet, I'm still in the training phase. I'm a little out of it these days, I've been running around like crazy and this guy thing has been bumming me out But that's ok, things will work out I'm sure. We're having a meeting tonight, so I'll let you know if anything interesting happens...it's been a while since we disagreed on an issue, I wouldn't be suprised if something comes up! Basically it's just money that's a problem for us right now, but we're establishing a system for penalties regarding not paying dues and stuff. We're working things out, slowly but surely. I think that the info from Alpha Xi Delta must have shown up by now, but I haven't been able to get in touch with Mariko to find out just yet. I'm so excited to look over it! That's all for now, more later.
love, Corina

Tri Sigma turns 104 this year, April 20, 1898 is our Founding day...so young we are not
Great job Corina, so proud of those new to be members. Also, make sure to always tap into your newest members for recommendations for other PNM's (potential new members). They are your best resource.
What type of penalities are you looking at for things? Tri Sigma does not fine as a use for penalties, just an fyi, and it's worked for 104 years
have a great night and keep recruiting!!!!

I'm the VP of NBO, and Corina is doing a very good job as prez...i think...just playin!I'm also very excited about Alpha xi Delta and Tri Sigmas and hopefully expanding into the NPC org. I've read her threads...and I also feel the way she does at times, but everything is going well for now...hopefully for longer! But, anyways....I love you Corina, don't forget that!!!! even though we go through drama.

Just an FYI, A Xi D doesn't fine on a regular basis. If you don't pay, you just get things revoked, like social priviledges. If things get really bad for a certain person the chapter has to request nationals to be able to fine them. We ended up having to do that for rush and it was $20 if they missed a recruitment exercise without an excuse...by the time they realized we were serious EVERYONE usually showed up.

Lucky! We get fined for breathing wrong. I think revoking priveleges is a better way of getting everyone to pay. A lot of people I know are content with just paying the fine and not going to the event, which just makes things worse.

I think for now fines will work better for us just because we don't really have a whole lot of privileges that could be revoked ya know? But of course if we go national we will abide by those rules. Boys are so confusing! But I went to training for my new job and it's going to be so great....it's a brand new Macy's and it's going to be basically the best shopping in the area, so we're expecting a huge client base. But I'm going to have so much fun! Yay! Other than that...I've been in contact with the extension coordinator from Alpha Xi Delta, and she said that the packet of info they sent out should be here soon. Probably now already. I really need to get in touch with Mariko to find out but the girl is already so uuber busy as it is. Nothing really new going on otherwise...isn't Liz the sweetest? I told you I had a great group of girls!
love, Corina
p.s.: right back at ya Liz, that meant soooo much to me!
