Ooh! I like your paddle - it's decorative and has its own character but is still masculine. Very nice!

My chapter makes boards in the shape of a sailboat. Once the Little Sis is initiated, she makes one for her Big Sis and her Big Sis makes one for her. Once both of them are finished, they choose a night to exchange.
Boats are often exchanged at Bid Night, Initiation Night, after chapter, or really any day that the entire chapter (or close to that) is present. It's a fun tradition.
They're usually decorated in the theme of something that the other person really likes. Example: One girl's Little Sis loves Twilight, so her boat resembles a Twilight book cover.

Making paddles was so fun! We have to make paddles for our "moms" and I really enjoyed making the two of them. Our paddle ceremony is tonight and I'm SO excited to give the paddles to them!
I'll post a picture of them tomorrow. I was really proud of them. They aren't as fabulous and amazing as some of the paddles within this thread, but I put a lot of effort and love into them and I think that its evident.

My pledge class and I have to make a class paddle, and we're doing it this weekend. So exciting! One of the girls designed it, and it's gonna be a life preserver donut with rope around it over an anchor. I'll put up a picture when it's finished. I also get to start making a paddle for my big... this thread has given me some GREAT ideas

OU DG's the night before initiation. The Littles have the small paddles, and the Bigs have the long ones.

Wow. That's really well done.
(And props for blurring out names, I respect respecting privacy!)
