I made up the last one!
I like to make fun of Kath's sorority by calling it Drama Phi Hata. And she likes to make fun of mine by telling boys to "Tri Delta, everyone else has."
They're affectionate nicknames though .

Well, of my sorority Zeta Lamdba Psi, we have been known as the Zetas, or ZAGS Lil Sister, which is why our letters were chosen because we were founded by 4 sister and 1 brother from Zeta Alpha Gamma Psi. Our first and last letter is the same as theirs.

Okay.. that is the third time I have read Boy Pi Phi... What in the world does it mean... We have a chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at my school and I have never heard them called that!!!!
I was a little lost the first time, because someone said Pi Kappa Phi - Pi Phi for Boys (they pull NO girls here) in Los Angeles, but I know are chapters at USC and UCLA are strong... then you typed it and I know that our OU chapter is strong... so I figured I misunderstood Sentience!!!!

This thread is really only bad if people are immature about it.

Actually, I have heard some of the older people at my school (as in 50-60 year old) refer to them in this way sometimes...but I have never heard it from any younger greeks.

Epsilon Chi
some of these are mean, but i like the ones with local character. ie. Sigma Chi here for some reason did not know how to make a S in micro Word. So their party posters all read
EX party
at
Sig Chi house
Friday...etc...
so when we are talking sometimes we slip up and call them Epsilon Chi. But that isn't mean, only the greeks get it and no one sounds like a ho.
(yes there are names for all the groups here, but why give them away...???)

Ditto!
Personally, I prefer Diamonds, Pearls, and Emeralds for DPhiE.

I hate this thread, too, b/c it always ends badly.
But an interesting thing that i've noticed about my campus is that we don't call Pi Kappa Alpha "Pikes", we call them "Pika"- they refer to themselves that way too.
I think this is becaus we also have Pi Kappa Phi and Phi Kappa Theta and Phi Sigma Kappa and they'd all get confused.

Kappa Sigma has AEKDB on their crest and they say it stands for "Almost Every Kappa Delta Blows"
Kappa Delta has AOT- Always on Top
Kappa Sigma- Kappa Twigs or Kappa Swigs
Everything else on campus that are nicknames other people have said.. No need to repeat..

More of a play on words reflecting the similarity of Greek letters, even though Pi Phi (the women's fraternity) is Pi BETA Phi and the similarly named but exclusively men's fraternity is Pi KAPPA Phi. (Emphasis mine.) Mostly used affectionately, especially when Pi Phi and Pi Kapp are on the same campus.
Back in my days as an undergrad my fraternity chapter was small, remotely located and universally derided as the 'apartment dwellers' (because our house was designed to be easily rented out as an apartment house should our chapter fold) by the rest of the OU Greek community. But then I spent my pledge semester drinking kegs of beer and choking through clouds of pot smoke, no wonder some thought our letters stood for 'Always Smoking Pot.'
