They change the colors of their greek letters on their nalia. Instead of pink and green, for instance, I could get a shirt with AKA in black and gold, or teddy bears, or whatever other print I wanted. It is common practice with non-BGLO's down here. I guess it isn't looked down upon for them. My point was, why would I look to them (or their website in this case) for guidance on how my nalia should look when they obviously have different standards/traditions.

I've seen that here too, in Ohio.

OH. I guess I'm guilty of that too. My FIRST shirt (1991)was pink (white trim around the arm and neck) with the letters cut out in a paisley print. I think the background letters were green.
I got the shirt done at a non-AA store.
I've seen other sorors who have done this as well.

At FWRC a month or so ago, I saw jackets with AKA letters in gold shadow. I talked one of the UG neos out of buying it.

AKA2d- I saw a shirt that was pink with the letters cut out in an Ivy print. It was cute but I was told it was a no-no so I left it in the store. *shrugs shoulders* go figure. I'm a neo so I do what I'm told.

That's why I say things are done differently even as members of the SAME organization. I have never seen anything OFFICIAL saying using a different print was a NO-NO.
I don't think I'd purchase anything with gold, blue, red, yellow, orange, or brown letters.
I didn't see where a print was taboo.
I'm not too concerned with it, since I don't buy T-shirts. As a matter of fact, that was the only "made" shirt I have. It's so old and worn, you wouldn't see me with it on IN PUBLIC anyway.

Let me rephrase that "I'm a neo so I do what I'm told most of the time......OK, OK...SOME of the time"

You beat me to it!! Although, I saw undergrads buy about 20. I always thought it was a no-no. But, I've seen pics of ole school greeks wearing them. Go figure!
Truthfully, I had mixed feelings about that jacket. It was kinda cute and inexpensive. But, I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. Alas, I'm loving my silver coach jacket.

Our UG neos were so cute, modeling jackets.
As for the gold-wash letter ones, one of our grad chapter neos, I learned, bought it. Ah, well.
I liked the little ivy embroidery, but the gold threw me, too. I like my pink jacket, though.

The Delta in Pomona does a wonderful ivy embroidery. Her jackets are high as heck though. Seeing that guy's after seeing hers was a disappointment. Also, did you notice his Founder shirts?? Lawd help him. They were a little off. I don't think anyone bought them.

I still have never been to the Delta in Pomona's shop. With my freeway driving phobias (although I'm ok on I-10 because it's usually bumper-to-bumper, even on weekends) I'm not sure if I can map out a ride there on surface streets. Hopefully, I can find someone to ride with.

I pose this question to all...since I am in the business...btw we do jackets how the customer asks. Most NPHC shields/crests bear their respective greek letters within the shield, therefore, aren't the letters indeed over the heart either way in the instance were a shield and 3 4" letters appear on a jacket ??

Ok...see this is what I can see as a TEACHING protocol moment. Their heart is filled with pride, but you just can't buy EVERYTHING that has your letters on it.
Also, I had to laugh with a soror at this year's NSBE conference in Dallas about bad nalia....a black jacket with Gucci letters.....I thought I would never see one in person....*dead*
LBF, the letters placement is a fine line discussion...I say this b/c some folks were taught to get nalia on a certain side. It pertains to their chapter's tradition.
Now, for myself, the having the shield over my heart means that I hold dear the COMPLETE essence of the org.
And I never have had an ounce of alcohol while wearing my letters or any piece of nalia.
