"Hopefully some of the other chapter list(s) will be published soon. They usually come out sooner than this."
Actually (I read the Daily Mississippian online everyday it comes out and have for the last several years), it has been my experience that the lists start coming out right about this time after bid day and that it takes from about three to five weeks for every sorority to put their list in the paper.

Well, it USED to be that Ole Miss had sorority recruitment before and during the first week of school like many other schools!!

Well, as a matter of fact Alabama - already with considerably higher social greek numbers and many new palatial GLO houses with more on the way - has been closing the gap in greek percentages with Ole Miss for the last ten years or so. Their fraternities, who unlike those at Ole Miss don't have a formal, structured recruitment, are fairly close there; and according to my counting, when you look at undergraduate females on campus who physically attend classes - that is, don't take only video or internet classes - Alabama's undergrad sorority percentage this past fall was just under 34% while Ole Miss' was just under 36 and a half. And this fall Alabama had a jump of more than two hundred in girls who signed up for recruitment and received bids while Ole Miss had an increase of only about fifty or so in both of those things (anybody in the know there please correct me if I'm wrong). And Ole Miss greeks, while they still win the vast majority of campus elections, at least lately haven't dominated them like those at Alabama have.
So Ole Miss certainly has one of the top social greek systems in America, that's beyond dispute, but I would definitely say Alabama could have an argument with them for THE top one.

Thanks for your input. BTW, while we're on the subject, does anyone know the number of girls who went through recruitment at Ole Miss and how many dropped out or did not receive bids?

Sure thing, and that's a good question, I was wondering that myself!! About the number of girls who signed up for recruitment anyway. Actually, I thought about directing that question to OleMissGlitter, since she's often had those stats around this time of year. So OleMissGlitter, I know you said in an earlier post that you heard about how many girls signed up this year, but did you ever get/do you have an exact number? Just curious.

From a little rough math, that looks like almost 90% of the girls who actually participated in the recruitment process were placed (got bids). Not bad!
Just a clarification on the "participated in bid matching" vs "matched" numbers... does this mean that 6 girls went to Pref & signed bid cards, but did not receive bids? I assume these might be either ISPs or just didn't end up high enough on a bid list?

Ole Miss has such a strong Greek system that it's hardly comparable to any other university. PNMs are lucky to get a bid ANYWHERE at Ole Miss!
