That was part of it too, honestly.

If you stay active in Sigma Kappa, she'll probably get the message without you having to explicitly say it.

Well, she'll get her first taste next summer when we travel to Convention. Mike is going with me to watch her while I do the mtgs & events & we're staying a few additional days afterwards. Lol! If you go, you'll get to meet her.
I LOVE the idea of singing her Sigma Kappa songs as lullabies. I'm already humming a few of them.

Bump because it's about that time. Good advice here for parents.

As far as treatment of legacies, Delta Zeta's rules are right up there in the public section of our website so it's not MS.
Here are a few of the most interesting points:
A Delta Zeta legacy shall be defined as a sister/step-sister, daughter/step-daughter, granddaughter/step-granddaughter or great granddaughter/step-great granddaughter.
A legacy receiving an invitation to the preference event shall be placed on the chapter’s first bid list.
A legacy shall be released from Delta Zeta formal membership recruitment only with justification and only with the prior approval of the College Chapter Director (CCD) and the Regional Collegiate Director (RCD) before being deleted from the invitation list. The National Recruitment Chairman shall be informed of the decision no later than 24 hours after it has been made.
So, we take our legacies pretty seriously. Although I've always wondered what would constitute "justification".

That last one must be a nightmare in SEC schools with potentially scores of legacies.

Interesting how things work out....
Nobody in our family was Greek (or so we thought) and our daughter really wanted to join a sorority. A week before she headed to UF (and yes she got recommendations to most of the sororities), we "discovered" her paternal grandmother was a Delta Zeta. Grandma says "I should look for my pin"...My daughter looks at me like "really we kinda missed that boat". Understand there was a lot of family stuff going on so it just hadn't come up.
She has what I would say was a wonderful recruitment....and ends up in Delta Zeta without the legacy awareness so now her and her grandma joke about being sisters!
