If there wasn't an Alpha Gam chapter at my school, I would have wanted to be either an Alpha Phi or an ADPi. I really clicked with the Alpha Phi's during recruitment and I could also see myself fitting in pretty well with the ADPi's at my school. However, AGD was the best fit for me!! If I could go back and do it again, I would definitely still be an Alpha Gam!!!!!!!

I can not imagine myself being anything else, but an Alpha Gam, but if it came down to it, Pi Phi or DZ. If I had known before Rush I might have looked into ASA too since my aunt is an alumni.

I'm so proud to be an Alpha Gam...but if it hadn't been on my campus, I would have pledged Alpha Phi. They were sweet girls that I really liked.
If I had stayed at the school I originally started at--the University of Arizona--I would have gone Chi-O. Funny thing is, I have a Tri-Delt friend from the U of A who told me I would have been a perfect fit at the Arizona Chi-O chapter.
But, lucky for me, I pledged Alpha Gam, and I couldn't be happier!

I totally agree AGD all the way and love the quote too! But if i had of rushed my fresh year (AGD really wasnt on campus at the time, they had issues, but we still love are old girls ) I would have definately gone to Alpha Phi. When I did do full rush another year I adored them and plus lots of girls from my hometown are in it (which is unusual). I also liked D-Phi-E and KKG.
Has anyone notices that all the AGD's are pretty much saying they would have gone Alpha Phi? Any coincidence since we're all part of the Syracuse Three?

Thanks for the compliments, ladies. Off the subject, when I rushed what seems like MANY years ago, on pref night the actives recited the Alpha Gam Purpose. I got shivers down my spine when I heard it--it was as if my family was calling me home. That's when I knew that Alpha Gam was the only place for me! I thought my signature should reflect that. And as for all the AGDs picking Alpha Phi as their second choice, being part of the Syracuse Triad is certainly something to be proud of. I love all my NPC sisters, but there will always be an especially fuzzy place in my heart for the ladies of Alpha Phi and G-Phi-B!

I love that line too, but my favorite line from the purpose is "To welcome the opportunity of contributing to the worlds work in the community where I am placed because of the joy of service thereby bestowed and the talent of leadership multiplied" I have even quoted it when speaking to other groups I belong to!

For me, its a toughie... if we didnt have PHI SIGMA SIGMA.... I would have most likely gone DZ! It was a decision betweent the two... But after pref in my heart I knew I was a Phi Sig though (and actually cried to my mom when I was SURE that I didnt get a bid!)
Not on my campus? From learning about them all... Chi Omega, Tri Delta, Phi Mu or Theta!
If I was a guy....lol (I love how people said this!) On our campus: Phi Delt... lol... off? hmmm...PIKE! I have loved all of the Pikes I have met!

Well, since DG was the only sorority I rushed, (I did informal) I didn't get the opportunity to see how all the other sororities were. However, since I am a Junior I have gotten the opportunity to know them a lot better on a personal basis and the things they are involved in. I love DG and wouldn't want to be anything else in the world, but had I done formal rush Kappa Delta probably would have been my first choice. I would have based my choice more on the philanthropy (child abuse, and I'm a social work major) and symbols (teddy bear, and I collect teddy bears) they use instead of actually how comfortble or how
well I fit in with that group of girls. They are a great group of women and I have a lot of wonderful friends who are KD's, but Delta Gamma is where my heart truely belongs.

I also did informal, and found out later about all the other houses and then wished I'd done formal. I probably would have gone AGD, what a fun group of people w/ great sisterhood. (I'm an ADPi).
It's really great to read through this and see so many people have respect for my GLO, though. I'm really involved now in my alum group; it's awesome to hear that we have impressed people on a National level. Thanks, ladies!

When I was in 11th and 12th grade, I was all about going ADPi. But when I got to school, I realized that they weren't me. I can't imagine not being a ZTA, but at my school if I really had to pick another one, it would be Tri-Delt. Off campus, I like DZ and AXO. All those girls I have met seem like real sweethearts, and I'm a DZ legacy. If I was a guy, Pi Kappa Phi all the way. Alpha chapter is on our campus, so I have met Pi Kapps from all over who come visit. They are always such gentlemen! Especially the ones from UCF. On our campus, the Pi Kapps are the only ones who treat girls with respect and don't just try to get us drunk and naked! Well, the Sig Epps are nice guys, too.
