I wonder what the legalities are regarding mentally challenged people getting married. Does it vary state to state? What illnesses are okay and which ones are not okay to be married? I'm all interested now, lol.

I think that it has a lot to do with competency and capacity (i.e., one's ability to discern right from wrong). That is a requirement for marriage in LA. That is an interesting area to research more....

There was an article in the NYTimes I think about 2 weeks ago if you're interested about this. The mentally handicapped are being encouraged to fornicate and get married by therapists and they think it's good for them. I think so too. Why should everyone else suffer from wives but they get to escape it?
