Corina -

completely understood. You can still come and post in Chit Chat to say hi - we're all thinking of you!

Hugs,
"33"

Corina,

I can respect your need for discretion. I still wish you the best. Hopefully, someday soon you will be able to return to GC so we can celebrate your success. Enjoy your journey.

Well I kind of knew the updates wasn't going to last too much longer...

But you have to look at it like this... If you ever become a member, you are going to need a new user name anyway

I totally understand your desire for discretion. Just let us know you personally are still alive every now and then, and that you haven't fallen off a bridge or something!

I understand the need for discretion (though I didn't notice that anything unusual was mention, is it just me??) but I have to say it makes me a little sad. It feels like the end of an era, I've been reading this thread since you first created it and it's sad to see it kinda end. Of course for a good reason, cause your journey is (hopefully) nearing an end. Well good luck...and be sure to post on the Fraternity Life 2 board....I mean you're kinda an insider when it comes to that. Thanks for sharing with us all of your ups and downs.

i hope as things progress you can give us milestones..as in when you are a colony...as in when you begin your journey...and particularly when you are installed.
just so we can share in your joy.
all the best sweetie.

Everything is ooooook. Basically, Theta Nu Xi just wanted to check out what had been posted, and make sure there was nothing inappropriate. So I thought it best to not post until that was all through with. They went through, everything is fine, and I'm very happy about that. I won't be giving as much detail as previously, but I'm certainly not going to stop writing altogether. So thank you to everyone that was concerned, and I look forward to reading and posting more!
xoxo, Corina

Oh all kinds of stuff going on recently. Well number one, I made a MAJOR decision. I realized that I wasn't able to give NBO and our colonization efforts the dedication it needed, and I was losing the faith, so to speak. So I made a really great decision-I resigned from the Presidency and nominated Wendy to take my place. She has been absolutely on top of everything (especially the correspondance and stuff with Theta Nu Xi) and I really feel that she deserves it. My sisters all agreed, and now we have a new Prez! I am now secretary, and feeling an enormous load off of my shoulders because of it. And plus, with this free time I've been able to consider what I really want to do once I graduate this June (yay me!). I realized that one of my favorite parts of being involved with the sorority, and of my old jobs that I've had, was the chance to come up with themes, flyers, advertisements, visual displays, etc. So I'm looking into grad schools in CA with specializations in that sort of area. So far I've discovered 4 (San Jose State, Pepperdine, USC, and SDSU-which is minutes from my mom's house) and I'm planning on doing graduate studies in advertising and marketing. I'm really excited to have this plan in my life, and feeling much better about....well everything really! And, with Wendy in the President position, we've already gotten so much more accomplished. I think the fresh outlook is just what we needed. We had a meeting with our Greek Advisor on campus about how to have a successful rush, and he gave us SOOO many useful tips and resources. And, we're going to be fundraising so that we can have the money to really make progress. Things are going well with Theta Nu Xi, we're doing paperwork and whatnot and we're going to meet with a colonization team at some point. And, much to my happiness, the Fraternity Life upheaval seems to have calmed down...everyone I've heard talk about it on campus is pretty much over the whole thing, and I couldn't be happier. Oh! And my favorite piece of news to tell you all. Last Thursday the Alpha through Gamma class members had a little celebration to honor Wendy, Liz, and myself (the founders of NBO) on our two year anniversary. There was a ceremony and the most thoughtful presents, and I think that I didn't realize until just then that so many other people care just as much about this as I do. They helped me to remember how proud I should be of what we've done, and I feel so confident that even when I'm long gone, this wonderful sisters of mine will keep NBO (or whatever we may become) on the same path as we originally aspired towards. So, to sum it all up...things are going well, and I'm happy! Oh god though, I tried to start printing this whole thread....damn, the first 20 pages online equaled out to 100 pages in print! I don't know how I'm going to get it all done, but I want to figure it out. I think that if we end up becoming a colony of Theta Nu Xi, then I would want that post to sort of be the final chapter in this thread. Not saying I would stop posting on here, but in terms of printing it up as a history, I think that would be a good stopping point. Right now it's looking like the total is going to be about 400 pages! Plus I want to have a copy for myself, and a copy for the sorority, and I want them bound...it's going to be expensive, but I think I can figure it out. Ok that's all for now, back to homework!

Love, Corina

Congratulations, Corina, Wendy, and Liz -- just wanted to add that to the expression of thanks and love you've received from your sisters.

Corina, you've taken a big step, one that's healthy and normal in Greek life (and in other organizations, too) -- handing things over to a "new generation," so to speak. Best wishes to you and to the sorority.
