WOW I just finished reading the ENTIRE tread
I can't believe all of the ups and downs your group experienced. I hope everything works out with Theta Nu Xi. So what made you all decide to go with a non-NPC group? I know that you expressed the wish to be apart of a group with an big alumnae base, so I was wondering what made you decide to go with a relatively new organization?

I think they are still looking at Theta Nu Xi... they may or may not go with them.

Hi everyone,
Update:
Right now we are waiting to receive a Declaration of Interest packet from Theta Nu Xi. I'm not entirely sure what happens after that, but I'm assuming we fill out a bunch of forms and then they review them and then...thing happen, I dunno, I haven't gotten that far in the thought process yet. As far as people asking why we're interesting in Theta Nu Xi, as opposed to NPC groups, or groups with large alum groups. etc. I guess my best explanation is to say that I am not willing to compromise the goals or beliefs of my sorority, just to affiliate. I want to make sure that who we affiliate with matches us and our important qualities seamlessly- and the only NPC groups to do that have not been interested in us, or willing to provide us with the level of support we need to thrive. So, rather than pursue a group who's values aren't congruent with ours (which is not to say that they are wrong or "bad" values in any way) we are chosing to place our interest with a smaller group that closely parallels our own. Optimist Prime designed a coat of arms for us, and on it he wrote (in Latin) "Honor Before Glory". I think that is a really good goal for us to aim towards, and one that I hope we've been able to accomplish thus far. In related news, we officially have SIX GREAT PLEDGES! I am SO excited. We all picked out our little sis's (I don't know how to pluralize that word) and we're very happy with all of them. Unfortunately Sandy (one of my sisters who lives in the house with us) is leaving in June , but we will still be at a total of 11 active members then and that is a whole lot for us! I'm very happy about that. More later, nap time now.

Anyone care to say grace?"

And the members of Alpha Psi want to become Alpha Phis? I hope that doesn't happen if they are the kind of people who would choose to participate in something so completely inappropriate and disrespectful.
Anyway, Corina, you go with your bad self!!! You really are amazing!

Have you ever had one of those weeks when honestly every single possible crappy thing that could happen does? I've got no money, midterms that refuse to end (seriously, we have so many each quarter and in each class that I have at least one every single week), and a super stressful bunch of crap to deal with at work. Trying to get promoted is really much more difficult than I ever realized. And one of our pledges is apparently depledging, which is disapointing because she's an awesome girl and I was really happy she was going to become a sister. I have so much paperwork to do for Theta Nu Xi, and I don't know how I'm going to be able to get everything done! Sooooo stressed. I am really happy about the pledges we do have, and we picked little sis's recently and I'm super excited about the girl I got! More later, someone write and tell me that everything is going to be ok please

Corinna,
I hate to say it, but depledging happens in every org; big or small, national or local, top tier or bottom. Greek life just isn't for everyone, and some women realize that a bit later than others. Just realize that it has notion to do with your org., and there is nothing you could have done differently that would have made her stay.
