OK, I just sat here in my computer lab for 3 hours reading this thread.

Corina,

Hang in there and I'm VERY impressed with your willingness to continue forward with your goal. DONT GIVE UP!! EVER! I wish you and NBO Sorority good luck for your rush and that you get great women.

I'm rooting for you here in San Francisco!

N.P.

OK, well most of the posts on this thread are words of encouragement, which I also pass along NBO's way, but this one is kinda off the subject...but oh well.

I found out yesterday that I got accepted into the earth sciences graduate program at UCSC!! (It was my first choice!) So more greeks to drum up support for NBO!! (And maybe I can convince Zeta to take a look at y'all ). Anyhow, I am coming to visit at the end of the month and I cannot wait!! Spring break in cali - aw yeah!

As of right now it looks like we have five interested women. They've met us all and learned about NBO, and all of them are really quality. So now begins a period where we get to know them better, they get to know us better, and then, if all goes well, we get five new sisters! Not a huge number but larger than we've ever had before! My personal life has gone to crap but things are going well with NBO so I'm doing ok. We've instituted this star points idea I had- basically we drew a big star on a whiteboard, and labeled each of the points: academics, sisterhood, greek relations, new members, and philanthropy. Right in the middle of the star is labeled personal. Then at each meeting we tell what we did for our star points that week- anything as simple as complimenting someone from another org, or studying hard for a test, or letting some new people know about NBO. It's been helping to remind us of our accomplishments thus far. More later, thanks everyone for the encouragement as always.

Talking

Hi- I posted in this thread earlier looking for information about becoming a part of NBO. Now, I am proud to say that I am one of the 5 interested women that Corina mentioned. I just wanted to say that after meeting the women of NBO I can attest to the fact that they are a really great group of women, and from what I have learned, NBO is a great sorority. I am really looking forward to becoming a part of their sisterhood!!

I just love the star idea!! What a great concept - especially considering that each of the points need the others AND the middle to make a complete star! Great idea, Corina!

Wishuponastar, I'm so happy for you! Congratulations on deciding to "take a chance" with a wonderful group of motivated women! This has been like a fairy tale to each of us who has read this history of NBO. I hope y'all print it all out for future members - how interesting it will be, 50 years from now!

Wishing y'all much happiness -
honeychile
