Ditto!
And sorry, but I'm clueless. The only JSU I know is Jacksonville State University in Alabama, and it doesn't have that many sororities.
Thank you for posting your story...you are a clever writer!

Oh! (feeling stupid now) Thanks, Scully!

Great story! Thank you for posting it! I completely understand about keeping the school and code a secret - especially with upcoming pnms in your house. However, with the school a secret, I don't think it will hurt to tell where you ended up. I think you present a very positive image of your group.

This was probably the best story since Chuck Norris.

100% agree. This story is chuck-tastic! I only wish you'd say which house you joined....I don't care about the rest! But I will live to see another day I suppose...

Thanks for telling your rush story, wow the memories!
|
He was a year ahead of me and in high school only had eyes for girls his own age. There was nothing that remotely resembled interest, much less a date, until college. I, however, had other plans for him even back then.
I am glad people enjoyed my story. It was really fun to write and brought back so many memories.

I think that this story was so engaging that we'd all like to have That_70's_Rush as a sister.

I am sorry if you think that a few posts hijacked your thread. Most veteran GCers know that I maintain a database thread that lists every NPC chapter at every college with Greek life in the US and Canada. (You can find it stickied in the recruitment forum.) By doing so, it isn't too difficult to put two and two together. Violetpretty is another GCer who shares my interest in that kind of data.
I believe that my own NPC is one of the "oh, dear" chapters on your campus. Despite that, I don't think it affects whether or not you reveal your campus or the names of chapters. This was 30 years ago. It's not a big deal.

Isn't it great when our plans work out?

When I went through rush in the 70s my school also did the "empty envelope" thing. However, I don't recall seeing anyone with that disaster. I don't doubt that it happened though.
I really enjoyed reading the story, thank you.

We did that envelope thing as well. Now, that you mention it, that happened to my suite mate. She was the daughter of a prominent active alum in the town where our university was. They had a huge historical house on a main road which everyone was familiar with. She did not get a bid at all. It caused quite a stir and I felt bad for her because, although she was not very outgoing, she was a very sweet person. My other suite mate went to her legacy house and the other one was anti sorority. It made for an interesting year.
