It sounds like Purdue rush is pretty exhausting -- when I rushed at Wisconsin, we never had more than four parties a night, but at Purdue, it sounds like they sometimes have more than twice that.

Your sister's that old already?
Sheesh. It seemed like only yesterday that all her recs were being sent in!!!

I totally agree about the strange priorities in the South! I think too much emphasis is put on the wrong things, and girls get so upset when they don't get a bid to the "perfect" sorority. I love seeing the diversity in the Midwest.

I believe quota at Purdue was 34. That's all the detail I have but I'll post more info when I get it!

Thanks for the pictures. Is the girl in the second picture carrying a camera? It's been a while since I participated in rush, but I can't imagine that would be common.

I heard that quota was 38. Sigma Kappa has 39 adorable new girls -- I was visiting my sister's chapter house last night and got to see them all coming up the walk for induction. We talked to a couple who seemed very sweet.
I didn't hear numbers for anybody else, unfortunately.

Here's my update...three girls I know who went through: one went Theta (my friend's daughter), one Pi Phi and one DZ! (I already know the most darling, wonderful DZ there). Sounds like all three had good recruitments...
I'm happy for all of them and glad they themselves are happy!

Miami has 17 chapters and is very competitive. Also, before we start knocking Midwest rush attire, PNMs at Miami dress up wayyyy more than the girls in the Purdue pictures
Congrats to the Purdue chapters...one of my sister's friends is an active Theta there.

I think it's great that they all wore the same shirts, with jeans or jean skirts. It levels the playing field in terms of attire, at least. I think that's great for the first round. With denim, you can still appear well put together, or play it more casual.
I would love to see what they wore for the remaining rounds.

The ZTA website has 40 ladies listed as 2007 pledge class. Congrats to all the houses and new members at Purdue.
