Wikipedia rocks. A few facts I learned about Texas that I didnt know and hadnt been posted here include:

Like a few other state capitals, the Texas capital faces South, not north. This was done on purpose.

When Texas joined the union, it was the only state that didnt have to seede its public lands to the federal government. Texas is the only state where current federal property was purchased from the state or private individuals.

Thumbs up

Kansas Capitol faces South and was a Slave Free State.

Missouri Capitol faces South, was a Slave State and where the Civil War actually got started.

We have BrownBack, You have D"a"Lay! Both are scarry for sure!

Mexican Navy Day: Sink-o de Mayo!

South of the border, Cinco de Mayo isn't as big holiday as Dieciseis de Septiembre (September 16, Mexican Independence Day). Cinco de Mayo honors the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla.

South Carolinians would take exception to that...

And ya d*** right I'm eating Whataburger before I pay one red cent for McDonalds.

Check out this site, specifically the fourth paragraph. It will hopefully clear up things.
