Auburn Recruitment

Auburn's sorority recruitment is a short time away. Does anyone have an idea about the number of women who have filled out registration forms?

I was curious to see if the economic situation will impact numbers of pnms in a significant way at a southern university with a strong sorority system.

Last I heard (last week), just over 1000. Could be around 1100-1200 - I think that's about the same number as last year.

Oh snap.

When Auburn starts, I feel like the recruitment season "kicks off" for us here on GC. Like "opening day" if you will, lol.

Best of luck Auburn ladies.

And get ready recruitment mods, lol.

Yee-haw! Do you know how many women are registered for Ok State? Hope they have a great time. There are some wonderful chapters at OSU with the oldest ones celebrating their 90th year on campus this year... KD's Nu chapter, Theta's Beta Zeta chapter and Phi Phi's Oklahoma Beta are all turning 90 this year.

Re: Auburn. The suites sound wonderful. Hope we hear some happy ending recruitment stories this season. The Auburn KD chapter received the highest chapter award at national convention in June, so I'm sure they are going into recruitment with a lot of energy.

The KD chapter room is beautiful, they did a wonderful job with it. I will be back on the Plains this weekend and will take some pictures for you all to see. Another Auburn tradition that is changing this year is that Bids will not be handed out at the amphitheater but will be moved to a location closer to the new village. Previously, the bids arrived at the amphitheater via a parade of trucks full of cheering Panhellenic women who distribute the bids to the Rho Chi's. I'm hoping that they still are able to keep this tradition inthe new location.

To the question earlier about Oklahoma State, I'm not sure how many were registered for recruitment, but quota was 49. Hats off to OSU Panhellenic for the outstanding job they, and their university, do during recruitment!

The new sorority dorms at Auburn are fab. I was there last weekend and going again this weekend. All the girls are so proud of them, they were sending out pics even before the rooms were fully finished lol.

I am in no position to be an authority on Auburn rush but I do happen to have a couple of daughters in the Greek system. The report today was that the heat and the stress of rush took it's toll on a few girls who ended up falling ill. I hope that if any pnm's are reading this the please, please drink plenty of fluids. I can't emphasize this enough. Also, don't skimp on eating a healthy breakfast, your body needs the nourishment to cope with the stress and you will feel better if your tummy isn't rumbling and you don't feel light headed. I heard that a few girls passed out today, don't let this happen to you!
