as for melissa's post, a bit dramatic for my taste. and those things are edited just like the shows are. one of my sister's works for mtv and is the one who edits them according to the other staff.

She's an idiot.

For her to comment on the shallowness of anyone or anything is kinda like Josef Mengele saying he's concerned about the misuse of human cloning.

I honestly don't feel that it matters if it is a national or local sorority or if they have a disclaimer stating such. people don't pay attention and will assume whatever they want! I also don't feel that whether this ends up being a positive or negative show with regards to greek life that it will impact greek life in general. Nearly all the freshmen/high school students I've talked to about greek life have off the wall preconcieved notions anyway that have to be dispelled. this may not be helping the cause, but i don't see it as hurting it either.

I just want to say that all you the sigmas rock!..You definately proved to everyone that u doing the show would not affect anyone negatively...I am very proud of you girls..I cant wait to see future epsiodes..If any of you would like to chat sometime then pm me and we can exchange sn's or something cuz my sorority is like yours in a way even though we are not a jewish sorority..Lata!

actually its her own personal site that she adds stuff to daily. julie and marr from real world new orleans have their own sites too.
melissa's site is http://www.princessmelissa.com , matt's is http://www.supa-fly.com, and julie's is http://www.planetjulie.com - they rarely have anything to do with mtv, except to condemn it every once in awhile.

She is talking about Jessica. She apears to maybe be hispanic? Although I know better than to guess anyone's ethnic background.

Does anyone know how many of the girls that were selected for membership were Jewish? It appears that many of those that were selected were not Jewish. I think I remembered one stating that she was Jewish and one had Jewish grandparents but did not follow the religion.

Could someone please explain why only 5 girls were selected to live in the pledge house? Why weren't all the pledges put in the pledge house?

A little correction........

One should say 'person of color' when referring to someone who is not 'white'

'Colored' is a very antiquated and somewhat offensive term.

But its ok. No harm done.

Snuggles, the pledge house apparently only houses six people. Besides, as Sigma Insider said, the girls weren't really chomping at the bit to live there.

Tara, I believe Jessica said she was African American.

Real Worlds Melissa may be a little too blunt for most people, but she really is intelligent, despite her biased attitude towards sororities. She is more jaded than hateful, I promise. She made a snap judgement based on a nationally telivised reality show, doesn't it seem hypocritical to judge her based on a personal entry she made on her own personal site.

Jessica said she was mexican-american (had it on tape cause I was out when it aired). I don't understand why they waited so late to bring in the sixth roomate anyway...drama? and I really don't understand why the other pledges in the house would assume she is there as a goody-two-shoes spy. I mean, did I miss something?

I'm not sure but did that article say that people didn't really want to be in the pledge house? Thats odd I would think.

Totally off topic: does anyone else hope they stop airing that disturing slurpee commercial where the guy is getting his tongue pierced...yikes!
