okay i just got into this post at the last moment but i did watch the show last night and have a few thoughts.

i believe the reason mtv decided to do this "documentry" (and i use that term lightly) is because showing pledges going through the process has more entertainment value (real world-esque) than just showing the day to day life of a sorority woman. its to be expected that things will be a little scandalous and i am sure by the end of the pledge period there will be one or two who drop out.

i wouldnt expect the worst. i watched the show with several non-greek friends and it was just another real world show to them.
there are stereotypes associated with every group. there will always be some people who think jocks are dumb or cheerleaders are easy or people in the band are nerds. its just life. if you can set an example of how great being greek is to everyone around you, the stereotypes can be changed.

overall, cool show, cool sisters, and somewhat sketchy pledges. i will definately tune in again!
