exlurker; There was a fire at the Zeta Beta Tau house at Syracuse. No injuries were reported, thank heaven:

"I believe there was a kid sleeping in there who was woken up by the fire alarm," said B.D. Bratt, the Syracuse Fire Department district chief. . . .
I just wanted to include that quote ^ from the article in order to reinforce the messages that chapters, RM chairs, and house corporations receive regularly: fire alarms, fire safety, sprinkler systems if possible – they can and do save lives / prevent injuries.
Exlucker, Thank you for posting this message. Unfortunately, our National Website is currently being re-designed so many chapters were not aware of the house fire. However, I do know that many chapters in the upstate region have been in contact with the Syracuse chapter as well as the Notheast Expansion/Development Consultant who is currently traveling in the New England area. From what I understand that there was heavy smoke damage to the one bedroom and very little smoke damage to the second floor, but the cause of the fire is unknown. The Omicron Chapter Housing Corp. has made a visit to the house and will be working with the chapter to make renovations to the bedroom and parts of the second floor. I was glad to hear that no brother(s) were injuried and everyone got out safe.
Also to all GLO's and Housing Corps.....Fire Alarms, Fire Safety, Spinkler systems, etc....They can & do save lives and prevent injuires!!!!!
