Black Female Comedian - omg my mind is a blank

I am trying to remember the name of this black women comedian I used to LOVE in the 1990s but I cannot think of her name to save my life!

She used to be on the VH1 comedy show from time to time.

She NEVER cursed to my knowledge.

She may have even had a talk show at one point, but I'm almost certain it wasn't Rolanda Watts.

All I remember was one of her jokes where she's giving advice to a white woman and the white woman says "Thank you nice black lady!" through tears.

Any help?

Bertice definitely used comedy as a medium for sociology and such. She's more of a public speaker and authoress these days.

I had no clue Rolanda was a comedienne. But, for some reason, when I saw "Rolanda Watts" I thought of Wanda Sykes, so I was really off in the wrong direction.

I don't think anyone said Rolonda Watts was a comedian.... just wanted to compare Bertice to somebody who was of a similar temperament -- Ro was the only person I could think of!

^^^Hahaha, okay that makes more sense. I only really remember her as Ray's girlfriend on Sister, Sister. All the other things I've seen her in are kinda fuzzy at the moment.

Right. She is Venice Berry's sister and one of them is a Delta, but I get confused as which one--CT4 help.

I see why you would make that analogy.
