Ever had a day like this?

Sisters & GreekChat community, pardon me for this vent...but y'all need to hear about the day I had today.

The day starts off normally...I didn't have enough time to eat breakfast because I woke up late (and yet I had enough time to check GC ).

Traffic was normal...it was when I got to school this morning that I started having problems. A friend and I walked out of the parking structure to our offices when I fished around in my purse to find my cigarettes (bad I know, but a hard habit to break). As I grabbed my pack out of my purse, some trash (gum wrappers & cellophane) fell out. Normally I'd pick up my trash, but they fell into one of those drainage ditches, AND I KNOW I WASN'T ABOUT TO STICK MY FINGERS IN THERE. An idiot walks up to us and starts yelling at me: "YOU KNOW, IT'S ALREADY A F***ING DISGUSTING HABIT AS IT IS AND YOU HAVE TO F***ING LITTER?". I'm like, "I KNOW HE JUST DIDN'T TRY AND GIVE ME A F***ING MORALITY LESSON" to my friend. So me and this jerk are yelling expletives to each other which attracts campus security. Luckily, a friend of mine who works for security saw what had happened and instructed the a$$hole to leave me alone. I got the last word in when my campus security friend told me to go to work because I was going to be late. A half an hour later I was telling the story to some friends when the idiot guy comes passing by. He gave me a dirty look and I asked him "WHAT THE F*** are you looking at?". Unlady-like, I know...but I have a horrible temper and I don't take chit from no one.

Moving on...Leigh and I are walking out of the structure. I tried to walk around a puddle to avoid slipping...but when I did I accidentally stepped on a dead bird. I felt something soft under my shoes and I literally screamed when I saw what it was.

Halfway to work Leigh and I are walking...and as luck would have it--a bird crapped on my shirt. At least it wasn't white like the last time a bird decided to release on me! I was lucky though, because I had an extra shirt in my office.

Work was busy as heck because we're approaching the first day of class and everyone's coming by to get their IDs and stuff. Normal. We're redoing our office so computer wires are everywhere. I tripped on some cords, fell on my bum-bum, and landed on a power strip. Again, luckily...the power strip didn't have any plugs in it and it wasn't in use.

Then I went to buy books...let's say the paycheck I got on Monday is gone. Scholarships will eventually pay for it, but they don't come in till September. Don't you hate that?

Then I had to look forward to going to the eye doctor because I need new contacts. Ever saw that episode of FRIENDS where Rachel's terrified of that air blast to check for glaucoma? That was me today. My eye sight's worse now...20/500! Again, something good happened from this--I didn't have any problems with my insurance today and I was able to get a good amount of lenses.

I thought nothing else could happen to me, but then as I was on my way home I found out that a car had accidentally knocked a utility pole down, crippling traffic lights and causing horrendous traffic. What normally would've taken me 10 minutes took me almost 45. Again, luckily there wasn't a power outage because if I was kept from GC I would've been royally ticked off.

It's 4 in the afternoon now and I was able to sit down and eat my frist meal of the day--Spicy Korean Chicken. Nothing's happened yet, but if I suddenly come down with stomach problems I won't be surprised.

Sorry for the long rant. Whew. I actually feel relaxed now. Tomorrow's Friday...and I'm off to go to the beach and enjoy the weekend.

Sandy,
Sometimes the best thing to do when you've had a day like that is just go back to bed and throw the covers over your head! Things will be better tomorrow...because they can't really get too much worse. Keep your chin up!
And don't swear anymore! Do I have to start yelling "EMILY!" around here?

Red face

No worries, Maria. I've cleaned up my potty mouth since Brady and I started dating, but I have to admit--once in a while it'll rear its ugly head, especially when idiots like that rile me up.

And no, I was NOT wearing my letters. I know there'll be some of you wondering if I was. I was wearing a UH Law School shirt--go figure, huh?

What I'd like to know is...what crawled up that guy's butt and died this morning? Smoking isn't one of my favorite habits either, but I would never DREAM of confronting someone about it in such a rude manner!

I know it takes all kinds of people to make the world go round, but that's ridiculous!

Sandy,

I know it's a little late (I've been bad about checking GC lately) but I feel so sorry about your bad day. Trust me, I know all about days like those. A couple weeks ago I was having a horrendous day like that and my friends managed to talk me into going out with them anyways. Well, I was already in a bad mood and it didn't make it any better when a nasty city pigeon pooped on my head. I really think birds have a radar for people having a bad day.

I'm sure you're doing better now. I just wanted you to know that I can truly sympathize with you!

Jen

Hi AGD Ladies! Hope you all don't mind me lurking around your board!!

Sandy, I have just gotta say that you strike me as a woman who does NOTHING halfa$$ed and this thread confirms it. When you decide to have a bad day, you have a BAD DAY!!! I believe in my 34 years on this earth, you are the first person I've ever known to step on a dead bird!!!!!

I sure hope things have improved for you and that you managed to have a great weekend despite all the trauma!

And while I'm here, how long until Brady gets back?

************************************
PS Hey AGD's, do you all know how lucky you are to have Sandy as a sister?? She's awesome!

I don't know what to say to that, except how sad.

Talking

You gals are the sweetest things!!!

I had initially checked this thread at work before I left, and I could not stop smiling. I literally was grinning ear to ear. My boss looked at me and saw the screen and told everyone "she must be on the greek website again."

I've ended that week on a positive note...having officer retreat with my sisters in a beautiful mansion on the other side of the island. I had a great time sharing my convention stories..the pictures..the video...and we all had a blast and are looking forward to recruitment. We've been getting so many emails from interestees to our website!

Today was my first day of classes, and it was pretty stressful because we got major traffic at my office. First day of school means everyone makes a mad rush to get their ids or renew their ids. To make matters worse, LA Lakers tickets went on sale this morning (they're having an exhibition game here against Golden State) so we were getting twice the amount of normal first day traffic. I finally got to class at 11:30 and first class is okay. I ended up dropping my Applied Calc class and I changed it to Philosophy last night because I decided that I needed that more than AREC...and PHIL's going to be such a drag--the homework needs to be turned in to the prof twice a week--one through the ftp server and the other written. But see--the CD-Rom from our text is for a MAC. 95% of the class have PCs...so we're all going to have a hard time!

Tomorrow I have three more classes so I'm looking forward to it for now...and I'm hoping that it'll be better than PHIL!

I couldn't help noticing there were a lot of hotties in my 2 classes so far. *I couldn't help it!* I met two more SigEps from UW on NSE...and they totally want to hang out with us since they're here for at least a year.

FYI: Brady's ship pulls in on September 7th--NEXT WEEK! They'll be in Kona this Saturday and will head on back to Honolulu after doing Navy League! I sooooo can't wait!

Again, thank you for all your kind words. AGDs, you are shining examples of what Epsilon Pi is all about. Tracy--you are the bomb. Sisterhood definitely goes beyond our letters!
