I need ALOT of help please!! Unique situation!

Hello, ladies!!
I would like to first and foremost thank all of you who answer my post. You've probably been more of a help then you know and for that you are greatly appreciated!!!!!
So back to my questions!
1) I am a junior transfer from a small CC to VSU where I'm hoping to rush in Fall '08. First of all, I hear that's a strike against me.
I'm very outgoing and have been very involved with my community and educational institute since middle school! I tutor kids of all ages (my last two was a 5th grader and a junior in HS in May '08), help people by translating at doctor's appts., court appearances, apply for government services, etc. In school, I was always an honor student graduation with a 3.4 and being involved in cheerleading, soccer, tennis, FBLA, TASCO (its a student community organization), newspaper staff, dance team, band, Junior Princess for Homecoming, etc. I became very outgoing Junior year but was fatally shy before that. I figured I should go ahead and make friends. In college I became very involved with the International students, helping out and translating, The Ambassadors (good grades and 3 faculty recs are needed, plus its per invitation only. They handle most school and organizational events), and with helping the new Students adjust to camps life. My grades now are 2.7 but hopefully will rise a bit when I graduate with my A.S. this Aug '08. I missed a whole year of school, my family was going through a very rough time and also my health failed very badly (I was diagnosed with a seizure disorder and a heart arrythmia, from when I was rushed to the hospital after I had one while swimming at my school. I dont spaz out, I just "stare" sometimes, or faint. But it's under control for the most part, seizure-free for two months ) and due to this my grades suffered. My recruitment asked me if I had special needs they should be aware of so I told them but that I was on meds for it. Which is true. Was telling them a bad idea?? Will they cut me??
2) I am 20 years old going into this, since I missed a year ( I graduated '05 since I was skipped a year). Am I too old?
3) Where can I find anyone willing to give me some recs???
4) Am I wasting my time rushing????? Please be very honest.
