Question Allowing Significant other to wear letters......

Okay, im not sure if there is another thread about this somewhere but I HAVE to ask!!!! My fiance and I were having a discussion about letting your sig.other wear your letters.

for example: his frat brother doesnt mind letting his girlfriend wear his t-shirts around the house or his Kappa jacket when she's cold...etc....On the other hand my fiance is like HELL NO...he loves me dearly but he would rather go to the store and buy me something right then to wear if i didnt have anything. They tease his frat all the time about his girlfriend wearing Kappa para but he still lets it go on.

I thought it was a little over board but got to thinking that maybe he's right. I wouldnt want to see him in my DST ever (not that he would want to) but you know what i mean. Not only that but it goes both ways....would you let your mom or your dad wear your frat/sorority hat or t-shirt...etc.

Tell me what you think...i really want to know!!! (sorry its so long )

Something kinda similar happend to me a couple of months ago. My brother, who is 20, will often go in my closet and get a shirt if he needs one. When he told me he needed a shirt, I told him to go get one and he comes out with one of my NUPE shirts. My first instinct was to snatch him out of it, and it must have showed on my face because he said, "I can't wear this one?" I calmly explained why he could not wear that shirt, or even touch my kane. He then understood and apologized.

I was mad in an evil way when I returned home to find one of my brother's guests sipping out of a SGRho cup. I politely asked for her cup and poured her drink in a new cup. There were no Greeks around, but she wasn't a member, so she wasn't going to keep it going.

Wearing my para??? Negative. Not even my Mom. The closest I ever came to that was allowing my niece to stay warm with my jacket on top of her at a step show in a chilly auditorium.

My dad was wearing one of my shirts and when I asked him to take it off he had a fit!!! But I was persistant and he had to take it off. SORRY! The only time I ever let someone else use my Kappa umbrella, was when I let my SGRho sweety go to her car in da rain. .

No one is wearing my letters. That's just not an option.

There was this one time when I asked one of my players (I coach girls basketball) to go to the varsity locker room to get my jacket. She comes out of the locker room with my jacket on. Oh MY GOD!!! I was sitting in the fourth row of the bleachers and I think I skipped all of the rows and jumped down, ran over to her as she was walking and I snapped her lil' butt up. "Girl, ARE YOU CRAZY??? TAKE OFF MY JACKET!!! I went off because these are high school students who know better...we have a lot of BGLO sponsored youth groups out here, so they KNOW BETTER!

My husband would rather buy me a jacket than to let me sport his "NUPE" anything.

I had an experience last summer where me and a few friends went to Atlanta. We were staying with one of my friends Aunts. That weekend it rained like crazy because a hurricane was in the gulf and it had come on shore and was heading up to Georgia from Florida. Anyway, one of my friends he's from the Carribean needed to go to the car to get something. So he just grabbed an umbrella from the door. It happened to be my Kappa Umbrella. When I saw him come through that door having used my umbrella I was like what the hell are you doing. I told him don't ever do that again. He thought I overreacted but he didn't touch my umbrella for the rest of the trip.

I absolutely HATE when females come over to my house and always try and play around and touch my Kanes, this one chick tryed to sneak one out the door, I almost pushed her down the steps of my porch! Females are always fascinated with my Kanes because they see how much each one means to me. Always wanna play!

I'm a negative on family and spouses wearing my para if they are not a member. I can recall a time I was at school and I left one of my SGRho tanks back home. My sister calls me one day and tells me that my mom took my shirt out of my room to wear that day. So i freaked and told her to put my mom on the phone. I made such a big fuss about it she changed her mind about wearing it. She said she wanted to wear it because it matched what she was putting on.

my mom, for WEEKS now, has been asking me to put my SGR keychain on her keyring. NOT!

explaining to her why = me being saddity

plz, my own soror almost got at me for wearing her jacket, so i wouldnt even think about wearing someone else's or using someone's para. one of my AKA friends had me over and gave me water in an AKA glass. i was like, are you sure? she was like, its cool dont worry, thanks for asking.

but not everyone's cool like that you know?

My Zeta cups and glasses are on display and it's pretty obvious that they are ornaments. What use to really aggravate me was when people wanted to touch my cat & Zeta figurines and also my paddles. Look but do not touch! I now have my off limit items under lock and key. As far as my man wearing my letters. Now that would be a serious problem. I would think something was seriously wrong with him. My Sorors can use my jacket/umbrellas, etc. Anyone else knows better than to even go there.

So here's a question. Would you let your mom/dad/husband/wife go without rather than letting them use any of your para? I mean, I understand not restricting items when there are other options clearly available. However, if it was raining, and the only umbrella available was yours (w/letters), or if it was cold and the only jacket/blanket available was your (w/letter) would that make a difference?

If possible I would buy one, but I really never keep my KAPsi umbrella in the car for that reason. Also I carry two jackets so my crossing jacket is optional. I have tucked my niece under my jacket when she is cold, but never let her wear it. Any adult should know the climate of the environment they are going to be in and should be able to dress accordingly. But on dates and social outing where I would have to be a gentleman I wouldn't be wearing letters anyway.
