Signs that Greek Life will never die

Although I go to really large school (over 30,000) our Greek system is not that big. 7 sororities 16(i think) Fraternities (NPC&IFC) and they are all pretty good sized but even still, fall formal rush last year we only had 300-400 (at the beginning) girls go through rush. Our rush chair at our chapter meeting the other night told us that NPC projections for this fall (by surveys sent to freshman inquiring on activities they would be intrested in) has a freshman rush of around 600 GIRLS!!!!!!!! A 100% increase since last year! what have you noticed at your school that totally shows the Greek Life is only getting stronger?

Interesting thought.

The two chapters I work with had excellent first semester rush -- and also very good second semester results.

One of the schools is just a little smaller than yours, and one is about a third the size.

Well i go to UNF, USFgirl(im a former bull myself...i ran for USF but ruptured my achilles and transferred to UNF 2 years ago) and i agree with you in that greek life is on the rise. Most fraternities(we only have 4) got their average amount, but in the spring every fraternity doubled their fall amount. I've noticed over the past 2 years since i've been greek that recruitment is slightly on the rise...not much but its gradually increasing. When i talk to our pledges and new rushees about what they thought about greeklife before coming to school, i notice a little more each year say that they realize that we aren't the "animal house" we used to be and we do good for the most part. A lot also say its great to have for their resume when they graduate too. I think a lot of them too have brothers/sisters in GLO's and they see what we are about through them as well. USF..what sorority are you in? I know some ADPis and KD's there.
