Greek Social Functions Suspended (Alcohol) (Westminster in Missouri)
A temporary suspension of Greek social functions at Westminster (MO) has been put in place following a car crash involving a high school girl who was driving after leaving a fraternity party. She sustained injuries, but is apparently recovering.

The suspension period will presumably give the school and the Greeks (and others) there some time to look at what may need to be done.

The Universities have gotten to be like our parents now...
this is a disgrace.

Fulton, MO is a very small town that has both Westminster and William Woods College to its credit. The colleges play a large role in the community and I imagine the relationship between the town and colleges is quite important. If the community perceives this relationship to be a problem (the local kids who are NOT college students are being allowed entry into college parties), then I imagine the college officials are willing to take measures to keep the relationship a positive one.

I've said this before and I'll say it again...
what kind of lame ass fraternity lets high school girls into parties? I mean, that's just kind of like admitting that you can't get anywhere with college girls so you have to go a step down.

LOL I went to a couple of fraternity parties when I was a senior in high school.

Fulton is a tiny, tiny, town. I'm pretty sure they'll take all the girls they can get into a party.

I don't know about all the other GC's here, but I feel that the big problems here are that someone so blatantly underage was able to get into the frat house (I know at my school's frats you have to be a student at the school or at least of college age), how that girl then got SO intoxicated without anyone stopping her from getting to that point (she had a BAC of .2157!), and how she was then allowed by everyone in attendance to drive after that (I'm highly suspicious that all the people in attendance that night were more intoxicated than she was).

Fulton is small but William Woods College (the other college in town) is primarily female in population. Plenty of college women to go around.

It sounds like the whole incident was handled well. SAE received a reasonable punishment(which was unavoidable) and the campus has also taken steps (read : some responsibility) to improve the situation. I also like their planned meeting with community leaders.
Thanks for posting the update.
