Spring Term
So, how does the Spring Term look for your chapter or colony?
RUSH
Special Events
Number of Graduates
etc...

Not sure about rush, due to the fact that it hasn't happened yet.
My chapter is hosting it's 3rd annual golf tournament this Spring. If anyone lives near Morgantown, WV and wants to go, let me know. Golf, Beer, and Sorority girls! Can it get any better?

Not much so far...
Nothing yet from the new colony at John Carroll... Our semester doesn't start until next Monday, so I'll post with our recruitment info once I'm back on campus.
I know we have two guys very interested and who seem to be everything Beta is looking for, and who would make excellent pledges once Rush starts...
I'll keep you posted!
And on the note of Chapter Events, there is a luncheon of the Cleveland, OH Area Alumni on January 25th. If anyone is interested, contact me and I can get you information on attending.

11 guys excepted bids today. This is excellent for us. We have deferred recruitment so this is out big recruitment, but its a small campus. We don't know everyone's numbers but the popular fraternities, especially the one who usually competes with us on guys, well they got 6 guys total. So 11 is huge for us, and it puts our chapter where we need to be to get our charter this summer. Of course we are continuing recruitment to get more quality guys, but 11 is huge and its the largest class we've had since colonizing (except for founding fathers).
I love how i keep saying we and us like I am still an undergrad. Anywho, for us, 11 is a great number.

Congrats aeBOT,
We took 11 really solid spring pledges too which is a lot at our school where fall is when most rushees come through.
In just 18 months, the chapter has doubled in size and this is a great thing. I have always had every faith in these guys to turn things around, but I never expected it to happen this fast.
EDIT- for all my bitching about Oxford at times, I must admit that a lot of their high level direction, RTS and leadership training for the actives has had a positive impact, and is partially responsible for our current success.

My chapter finally got motivated and inducted 10 pledges this spring. That's more than some years combined. They're doing well in intramurals and are 2nd in grades following the Fall '07 term. Things are looking very good right now.

John Carroll gave out 4 bids last Tuesday... not too bad for our Alpha Pledge Class considering Spring Recruitment has never been large here.
Two of the recruits accepted their bids and were inducted this afternoon. The third chose to defer his bid until the Fall for financial reasons, and the fourth for family issues he needed to take care of.
On the Scholastic Aspect, the Office of Student Activities has release the Campus Fall Grade Reports! The Betas have done ourselves proud with the highest campus GPA in our first semester on campus with a 3.34 Cumulative.

Here in San Jose we have an accepted 6 bids to form the Alpha Kappa pledge class. Unfortuantly, grades werent so great due to 2 or 3 guys.... gah!
On the bright side I am starting a campaign to link the 5000 alumni here in the Bay Area to form a strong Alumni Association

Looks like my chapter back in WV did pretty well. I believe they ended up extending 11 bids and all accepted. I was a little nervous b/c I didn't know the recruitment chair. Brothers that pledged after I left have finally started to take over...damn I'm getting old!

Greetings
Down in Los Angeles we had our best recruitment semester to date. We are still a relatively new chapter but we are proud of our new 25 member Zeta class. We will see how the do. I have high expectations that they will be a success. As far as grades are concerned we are second by .04 GPA points. This semester will be a turn around for us and we will get back on top where Betas belong. Otherwise we have our semester camping trips, broomball, and our newly founded Beta Off Road club (Stickers Pending). It looks as if we will have a good semester. Hope all of your chapters have similar success.
Gary

Spring pledge classes really need to start upping their enthusiasm around here. Enough said.
