You don't want to be active, you don't want to have to pay dues, and apparently you don't like guys who are going to be your brothers (and from what you say, they don't like you). So why do you want to become a member of thsi fraternity?

That sucks.Your pledge bros are who you should be closest to. How do the active bros get a long with you? Cuz if you like them a lot, then it might be worth it, but if your not having a good time then probably just drop.

This isn't the Surreal Life, they don't stick you in a house together for a week w/ nothing to do except talk to each other.

Yeah - I pledged/initiated last semester and I'm really only really close with 2 girls. I have fun with the rest of my sisters but only when we're in a big group. I've never really had a one-on-one conversation with any of them really. But now I can actually match up their names with their faces.
I'm sure you'll get closer to them as time passes and whatnot.

I think you need to stop coming on here and asking for advice that no one can give to you. We don't know you and we don't know your pledge brothers. How can we tell you something when we know nothing about it.
Not to be an ass, but seriously dude...this is one of those situations where you need to figure it out for yourself...

If you're new to university as a whole, perhaps you should build some non-Greek friends to supplement your Greek ties. That way, if it doesn't work out, you haven't lost everything.
Other than that, I didn't like some of my fellow pledges. Some were pot smoking hippies who never worked a day in their life and others were too poor to have any fun. Being a non-smoking, light drinking dandy of sorts, I didn't fit in at first, but I've had loads of fun over the years.

Truth be told, three of my LB's (line brothers) were, and still are personality deficient, however, I soldiered on, and became a brother carrying the same attitude I had when first was introduced to my Fraternity. Dig yourself, and remember why you wanted to join in the first place.
In life, you'll come across hundreds of people you'll have to interface with in order to reach a common goal. You may love 'em or you may want to bash their heads in when you look at them. However, they still are parts of the whole and you have to work together in order to get the desired outcome. You guys can make it through as a group, and then drift apart after you cross and make new friends within your organization. All in all, the effort you give in putting your best foot forward will make manifest in the end of your journey.

 Good luck to you.

You're screwed... if your own pledge class doesn't like you then you're gonna probably get dropped anyway.
