Lambda Chi brothers in movies
Long ago and far away I was High Beta for Zeta Epsilon Zeta at UT-El Paso. Our ELC, a guy named Mike Cooperman, came into town and told us about how he'd seen chapters have a simple brotherhood event where they'd watch only movies that had Lambda Chi members in them. Back then we didn't know of too many, so all we had to chose from was The Ice Pirates, The Emerald Forest and Red Dawn. Years after I had graduated I found Extreme Prejudice -- which was filmed in my lifelong hometown of El Paso, TX.
Now I can name a few more movies with Lambda Chi brothers in them -- Miss Congeniality, The Guyana Tragedy, Tombstone and Into the Homeland -- but I'm pretty sure there have to be more. Was John Tesh in any movies? Benjamin Bratt had to be in more flicks than that as well. I could always look on imdb, but that takes the fun out of it.

How far back do you want to go? Will Geer (Chicago, 1930's) & Claude Akins (Northwestern, 1940's) were in both films and TV. You may remember them from watching Nick at Nite (Grandpa Walton & Sheriff Lobo, respectively).

He was the first Brother to win an Oscar for "12 O'Clock High" for supporting actor.
Jonathan Frakes has been in and directed several movies...

I actually remembered Chris Klein, but since he was still in high school by the time I'd graduated college I left him out. I was actually on a Dallas/Ft. Worth based competitive cheerleading squad around the time he was active at TCU and some of my teammates knew him. He's made a few lousy flicks, which sort of shot down his star but hey... he's still a brother, right?
The late Dean Jagger is one I should have remembered. I know he even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Robert Urich does as well. Are they the only two Lambda Chis on the WOF? I know Bratt isn't there, but maybe he will be in the future.
Dean Jager was the ultimate Gentlemen and played in 12:00 Noon High with Gregory Peck as His # 3. Think that is the name of the show. WWII in England about Bombers!
As was said, the Bing Crosby movie was supreme and memberoable.(SIC)
Met Bob Urich and slapped Him on the back at a Golf Tourney that I played in.
Told Him He was much better looking in true life than on TV.
Didnt know He was a Brother then! Oh Well.
John Tesh catches a lot of static, but makes $$$$$ Good for Him.
Wish They (We) would look at NCSU to redo if possible.
Still would like to get THE BOOK back that I sent out to be read and signed and passed along!

It's not exactly a movie, but you could take a whole weekend and watch every episode of HBO's "Deadwood," featuring Brother Powers Boothe as Cy Tolliver.

I'm surprised Powers Boothe has never been pictured in the Paedagogus... at least none of the ones I've seen.

Ah Powers Booth. In Top Gun!
Watching HBO and who do I see but Ben Bratt getting it on with Halle Berry in Cat Woman. Lucky Brother!
Also cannot remember the TV Show He was in with Dennis Hopper.
Do it get any better than this?

This Lambda Chi I knew at Auburn--Mike Wilson--was close to Will Geer, who got him into some Walton episodes and commercials, plus I heard he'd been in some TV series. I did see him in a beer commercial....

I should have mentioned that Benjamin Bratt also appeared in Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone and Sandra Bullock.

A definitive list
What we don't have is a definitive list of our Brothers who have been in movies or on TV. There is plenty of anecdotal information, but I've never seen a comprehensive roster. These are the ones that I know of:
Will Geer (blacklisted in the 50's)
Robert Urich
John Tesh
Claude Aikins (in the 1950 movie "The Caine Mutiny")
and then all the ones mentioned above that I've never heard of!
Jono, where are you?
