Sigma Sea Cruise Song Lyrics
Hello,
I need some songs that would match up to these lyrics below. Nationals doesn't have the cd anymore. The song needs to sound beachy. Thank you so much!
Hey look us over lend us an ear
We're here to tell you about Tri Sigma dear
She's number one now in all of our hearts
And if you are looking for Sisterhood
This is the place to start
For we'll be right here beside you to show you the way
To lasting friendships that grow from day to day
We're a group that's going places now
So come the Sigma way
For Tri Sigma you're ok!
We're Sigma Tri and we're out of sight
Come on look at us we're purple and white
And when we sing, we sing with all of our might
And we won't give up until your in our sight.

I think it goes to "Hey Look Us Over" - as to sounding "beachy" -we did beach theme - we used "Surf City" ("Sig City"??) Rockin ' Robin ("Rockin' Sigma"?) . . . "Let's hang on (to what we've got") - I think Beach Boys lend themselves to re-writes fairly easily.

Zeta has a song very similar that you should check out... the lyrics are similar and I believe it's called "Hey Look Us Over" and it's on the Zeta NM CD. I'd sing it to you, but you can't hear it over GC forums. I wouldn't classify it as beachy but it's definitely upbeat.

That brought back memories. "Hey look us over" was my elementary school song. Yeah, I remember my elementary school song.

it is upbeat, but reminds me more of a fast march, than a beachy song. have you posted your question in the tri sigma forum?

It is the same music as the LSU fight song "Hey Fighting Tigers".
Thanks SthrnZeta - I've edited to (hopefully) correct the link.
ETA (part 2) - link now seems to work

This is too funny...I was telling my boyfriend last night about a rush song we used to sing to the tune of Popeye the sailor man, to which he rolled his eyes and said, "Thank G-D I'm a guy, we never sang songs like that" (he's a Sammy from California and is 13 years older than me, so different gender, different generation, different geographical area). Anyway, here are the lyrics:
We're sisters of Sigma three
The best known sorority
On sailboats and pearls
We'll send our new girls
To Tri Sigma destiny
Feel free to PM me if you want other suggestions of songs relating to a beachy/nautical theme that we used when I was in school in the early to mid 90s.
