Suzanne Pleshette, RIP

Just read on another board that actress Suzanne Pleshette has died at age 70.
I thought she was fantastic on the old Bob Newhart show. It's still one of my favorite reruns.

I just adored her. The last Newhart episode--where Bob woke up and the whole Newhart Show had been a bad dream and she was in bed by his side instead of Mary Frann--that was fabulous, I was in hysterics.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Suzanne Pleshette, the husky-voiced star best known for her role as Bob Newhart's sardonic wife on television's long-running "The Bob Newhart Show," has died at age 70.

Pleshette, whose career included roles in such films as Hitchcock's "The Birds" and in Broadway plays including "The Miracle Worker," died of respiratory failure Saturday evening at her Los Angeles home, said her attorney Robert Finkelstein, also a family friend.

Pleshette underwent chemotherapy for lung cancer in 2006.

Oh, no. My dad's going to be bummed - I know he always had a crush on her.

she was such a great actress. I really liked her in the short-lived series, "Good Morning Miami"

She always seemed so put together. May she rest in peace.

This is upsetting...

I had always pictured her in the "modern" remake of Auntie Mame...

so we could all erase that awful performance of Lucille Ball...

I agree. The finale was soo great when Bob wakes up and she is there instead of Mary Frann. She married Tom Poston, another Newhart alum, however he died last year and so they are together again in heaven.

Plain and simple, she was one sexy lady. She always seemed like someone who would be fun to hang around.

I didn't realize she was married to Troy Donahue. He was in "A summer place" with Sandra Dee. (which I'm sure none of you remember).
