The Importance of the Yellow Rose? Alpha Phi Apha

Hi, I am an interest of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. And have begun to talk to members of my college’s chapter expressing interest. Before doing that I had/am researching as much as I can about Alpha Phi Alpha from books, and the internet alike. However, as I came across the yellow rose as the fraternal flower, I was/am unable to find out any information concerning why the yellow rose was chosen.
And believe me when I say I have looked. I searched through at least 200 websites from different chapters, national websites etc. And a few books, but this particular piece of information eludes me at the moment, which is why I decided to post this topic here. I would be ever so grateful if you could direct me to a website, book or even explain to me the significance and importance of the Yellow rose from a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. Please, and Thank You.

Appropriate question: What is the flower of the fraternity?

Inappropriate question: What is the significance of the fraternity flower?

reply.

Thank you for your comment.
I do not think that what I asked is an inappropriate question if one is trying to learn as much as he can about about the fraternity one is intereseted in. However, since the flower of the fraternity IS the yellow rose, which I know. And it is common knowledge i.e. every online encyclopedia and chapter website has that information posted. My question of "why" was asked. I'm almost sure there is answer, but I could be wrong. It also could be none of my business at this stage of my journey. Where that would be an acceptable answer.

I was politely saying that it is none of your business.

Please do not post any more inquiries about the fraternity on GreekChat. You have identified yourself as an aspirant. The national website plainly lists the people you may contact about this information.

Thanks.

And yet a member of the fraternity about which you claim interest said that it is an inappropriate question. Hmmm, I wonder which one of you is correct.
