Fraternity insurance

Im a member of a local co-ed fraternity, and we need to get insurance for our organization. I dont know how to go about this. Are there any suggestions out there for those of you that have started an alpha chapter for a local fraternity or sorority?

You should look for someone who does property and casualty coverage....as what you need most is liability insurance. It'll be tough to find - and expensive - unless you have very strict rules and can prove that you enforce them (by written policy and procedure).
Insuring GLOs is a tough business.

I'm in the same predicament Killove. I am the president of Omega Tau Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and our host institution is haggling us about getting insurance for the chapter.

However, I've seen that no one has responded to your question as yet... I'll try starting another post!

2 companies mentioned in the locals forum for insurance were Kirklin and Admiral Insurance.

Eveidently, you do not own a house which is wowie off the chain for insurance.

I suggest as a non house owning GLO, as was mentioned you look at Liability only! Go to an insurance group that someone in your group may know and also check with others in your area.

Yes, Kirklin is our broker and our policy is through Admiral. We are a non-house owning org, so our premium depends on how many active members we have. Getting a quote is pretty simple, you can just call around & see how much it will cost.
