OSLO, Norway (AP) — Former Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.'s climate change panel won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for spreading awareness of man-made climate change and laying the foundations for counteracting it.

A few years ago I'm sure he regretted not being the President. I bet given his surge in popularity and all his awards, as well as Bush's awful image, he's happy he is where he is. Congrats to Al.

No shit - talk about hitting the lottery.
He seems like a genuinely likable guy - now that's the kind of luck I can get behind, even if I'm not exactly sure what "foundation" he's helped lay for reversing man's effect on the environment.

Hm, seems with Al's new popularity, there may be an Al for President campaign.
The call of the White House for a Poitician is strong to some.

I don't think he'll run. I just don't see him having the desire to go through the political mudsligging that he went through in 2000 all over again.
Plus, his passion is the environment. He gets more done being an environmental activist rather than a President. As President, he'd get too bogged by the lobbyists, Congress and the general public to be able to do what he really wants to.

Which is apparently, and somewhat ironically, to be a lobbyist.
Weird planet we're living on right now.
