Not new at all... they've been around for awhile.
My favorite by them is Small Town Kid.
It's just that the mainstream CMT/Top 20 Country stations don't play good country anymore...or country at all. I mean, really, Rascal Flatts is the antithesis of country. So is Keith Urban, Cowboy Troy and all this other trash out there right now.
The real stuff is in alt country or Texas/Red Dirt country, stuff like Kevin Fowler, Cory Morrow, Drive By Truckers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Bleu Edmondson, Aaron Watson, Casey Donahew Band, Randy Rogers Band, and Robert Earl Keen.
Any of the above maybe played on the radio, but I doubt it.
