SoRhors, what are your fondest memories since joining SGRho?
Ok, I must admit that I jacked this thread idea from another message board. However, the responses were so touching that they almost brought tears to my eyes. I will start off with 3 fond memories that I can think of off hand and I will come back later with more.
1#: Linking up arm in arm with my new sorors to sing the Sorority Hymn for the first time after being inducted.
2#: Driving to this year's NE Regional Conference with two Cultured Pearls from my sponsoring grad chapter. I learned so much about Sigma on this trip!
3#: Recieving my first Aurora.

Umm, GlamourPoodle, I thought that meeting me for the first time would have made your list?
My fondest memories:
The first time I sang the hymn in public (at Howard for Alpha Phi's neo show)
A Mid-Winter Conference and I was sick and not sure where the correct building was. I walked in and saw nothing but ladies in royal blue suits and knew I had to be in the right place. SeriousSigma also bought me a sandwich!!!
About 3 years ago, my chapter gave me a certificate of appreciation at a Founders Day Tea.
Last summer's trip to the Leadership Conference and our new Headquarter's dedication.
My induction ceremony of course!
I have more that I will post later.

My second Boule--- Miami, 2002-- because it was the first conference my Mom and I attended together and it was just great all around!
Every induction I have attended since my own..... (the question always is, will I cry this time?????)
My Bridal Shower hosted by my chapter. I never felt so loved by my sisters!

Now Soror BlueReign, I said I would be back with the rest. I had to jump off of Greek Chat because "Boss Man" was walking up to my desk. But know that chilling with you and the crew at Lone Star at Cap Blvd is definately gonna be on my list.

I have so many fond memories! Sigma has become such a shining part of my life, and I've have so many great moments since I became a Sigma.
*My induction....It truly was a LONG HARD to Sigma, and I was so happy to become such a part of this beautiful sisterhood! Reciting the pledge and singing the hymn for the first time was so amazing and beautiful.
*My first regional conference. Such an amazing experience...so many beautiful sorors all together....Wow.
*Road trippin with my ls's and other sorors all across the midwest.
*Moving to Atlanta and being embraced by the sorors here.

* having my first lettered shirt made after I crossed.
* as an undergrad, meeting other sorhors from campuses in my area.
* starting a poodle pin collection. Sometimes poodles are hard to find, so when I find one I'm really happy.

We lub you, too!!! It really has been a joy knowing you.
My memories:
** My first time intRHOducing myself as SoRHOr right after my induction. That was a surreal moment.
** My first regional conference (2002) in Montgomery, AL. Sooo many memorable moments in that small city. The graduate chapter that organized the conference is a small chapter, but it was moving hearing the committee chairperson detail how she made a list of things to do, and she slowly completed and checked off each task until everything was checked off. Just a labor of love!
** Regional Conference, Part 2: During the undergraduate luncheon, the Grand Basileus at that time, Soror Helen J. Owens, began to speak to the sorors. Before she could continue, she had to offer a gift to one special undergraduate soror. She said she thought about it carefully, and she selected one of the sorors from the step team that won our regional step show, Omicron Pi from Troy State University in AL. She selected "Jen", who happens to be Caucasian and one of the tightest steppers I've seen. Soror Owens said she selected her because she knows how she receives questions about the choice she made in Sigma. If she, as a black woman, gets questions, then she knows that "Jen" gets questions all of the time. Soror Owens knows what it likes to stand alone on a very important and personal choice, and Soror "Jen" exemplified that more than anyone after that step show. I was choked up as if I had received that gift, and I know there were other sorors crying with "Jen".
** StRHOlling with 3 other soRHOrs, including one who drove from Chattanooga to Atlanta for practice, at the 2003 Atlanta Greek Picnic. The four of us WON! It was a bluetiful experience.
What else do you have, soRHOrs?

i have two:
i went home to texas after attending the central regional conference. that same week, they were having the southwest regional conference so i decided to go down and check it out. at first i felt a little out of place because everyone was dressed in business attire and i was in faded jeans, flip flops and my line jacket. an older sorhor came up to greet me. at first i wasn't sure of what she was doing, but when i figured it out (a good five seconds later), i nearly cried (sappy i know) and greeted her right back.
the second one was this past weekend when i was in the hospital (nothing serious, mild infection) but the waiting room had almost all of my sorhors in it. i'm pretty sure we were pissing the nurses off because my sisters kept coming back one by one to see me and i was really touched when they came back because i know they were trying to leave town, so it meant a lot to see them.
then again, i've been an sgRHO for a little over two months so i'm pretty sure i'll be reposting to this within the next few months

*getting my piece of para...it was so surreal, finally be able to wear these letters with pride!
*Meeting a soror on the street for the first time and being able to give her a big hug and feel that sisterhood.

this is a good one!
1. my first time wearing my line shirt to campus, the first monday after i crossed. . .
2. the first time i had a "sigma moment" and ran into a soror by chance at Disney in Orlando. . . wearing that SIGMA bag was a definite plus!
3. winning the annie neville talent competition in AL for the SE region in 2002. . . and coming in third at boule the following july
4. the pride i felt wearing my SIGMA GAMMA RHO kente at graduation in 2003 and having my sorors out in the stands eeee-yipping for me when i gave the sign. . .
5. my graduate chapter induction. . . they bought a whole cake, just for me!

Going onto the Sigma MB and announcing my new status to my sisterfriends.
My first regional conference, and the friends I made there
Receiving my first Aurora
Attending my first neophyte shows, and doing the call until I had no voice left.
