Favorite Board Game
I dont know about everyone else, but i love to play board games. Some of my favorites are Guess Who (we play with two cards instead of one and ask "either" or "both" type questions)rummikub, and scattegories.

Hehe. My friends and I are in the process of developing a Candy Land drinking game. Why? Because we were bored one Saturday night and the game was $4.99 at Wal-Mart
Its become over complicated, and honestly, I don't remember many of the rules because its still an "in progress"
But since its the only board game any of us have up at school, I would say that its our favorite by process of elimination

One word - Monopoly! I am the champ - I wish I had the bucks to go play in that real tournament every year! That would be so great!
I love games - my husband doesn't so I never get to play! We've found 2 really fun card games - Skip Bo and Phase 10. Both are long (Phase 10 is really long) and really fun! The rules sound complicated, but once you get playing, its very fast paced and fun.

My family is developing this tradition of playing pictionary. We played it for our Christmas get together at my aunt's this year and it was pretty fun. Its a very challenging game but if you have the strategy it can be pretty cool. Especially when you cant write words down or talk to your teamplayers on what the answer might be. I like monopoly and trivial pursuit too.

I love Scattergories, as well as any variation of "Sorry" or "Trouble". So fun to send your friends back to the start and they have to start again (hee hee!)
Growing up, I played a German version of Trouble called "Mensch arger dich nicht" (which means "People, don't get yourselves angry"...pretty apt for a game which is the same as Trouble, huh?) A babysitter brought it for my sisters and I from Germany. Lots of fun!

*giggle*giggle* - that is an idea for tonight - the hubby and I are bored and no money to go out -- thanks for the suggestion
(By the way - has anyone seen the Lexus (or whatever car I can't afford) commercial where the doctor is on the cell phone and you're led to believe he's talking someone through some big surgery or whatever -- and finally they show you his kid in the backseat playing Operation? Too Cute!)
About Scrabble - a guy that just left our company is a Scrabble champ -- big time -- he's been in competitions all over and won money and all. Anyway - he would never just email you or talk to you -- he would turn the words around or answer you in synonyms -- it was annoying at first, but then we would just laugh everytime he came up with a new one!

My favorite game is Taboo...I don't think that's really an actual "board" game, but I love it anyway.
My other favorite game is Life...I used to be pretty good back in the day
Oh and this isn't a board game either, but I love Jenga! And now they have Truth or Dare Jenga! I haven't played yet, but my friend has and she says it's pretty sweet. Has anyone else played it?

Okay, lets see if I remember the rules...
First of all, you start by drawing a card. Whenever anyone lands on that color, everyone gets to take a drink. Basically, you assign different liquors to different characters on the board. For example, we used Sloe Gin for Plumpy, Peppermint Schnapps for Mr. Mint, Vodka for Queen Frostine, Kahluah for Gramma Nutt...I cant remember the others. Basically, you use whatever liquor seems to fit the character, or whatever you have on hand . So, as you play the game if you get a character, you have to take a shot of that character's drink. If you use one of the shortcuts, you have to take a drink, and that drink is chosen for you by the person to your right.
And for the ending...I don't know *exactly* how this is supposed to go because we never play until the end, but the basic premise is that shots are supposed to accrue. So the first to finish assigns a certain shot to all the remaining players. Then the next to finish does the same. And then after everyone has finished, *then* you drink all of it. So, if you're last to finish, you end up pretty messed up!

I LOVE BOARD GAMES! But it seems so hard to get other people to want to do that instead of drinking (I am not a drinker anymore!)
1) Balderdash: I am the champ because I am the queen of BS! You get a real English word that NO ONE has ever heard of and you have to make up a definition. One person knows the actual definition and mixes it in with the made up ones. They are all read and everyone has to pick which one they think is real. It's so much fun. You have to play it with at least 4 but no more than 8 people. It can get really confusing and frustrating otherwise.
2) Mastermind: This is an old game. There is a board about 12" long with about 20 rows of 4 peg holes. It's a two player game. 1 person sets up a color combo behind a little shelter on one end, the other person has to guess the color combo using the 20 rows of pegs. The person who set up the rows lets you know how right you are using black or white pegs. Confusing to describe, very mental game.
3) Chutes and Ladders: I was addicted as a kid!
4) Mad Libs: WHO REMEMBERS THESE? OK, it's not technically a board game, but I wanna mention it!!hehehe
5) Scattergories: I love this game, it's a good game to play with 3 or 4, no real brain work and it can get dirty!!!
