Unless he's actually going to be near Tallahassee, I have nothing to say <grin>.

Seriously - DH and I are both big fans, just wishing he'd come back to Tally-town. He hasn't toured here for years. Margaritaville Radio is a permanent setting on my Real Audio player.

Cool

Here I am, Buffett fan extrodinaire!

I'm seriously in love with the guy. And I'm not just a "Songs you know by heart" kind of fan. If he never ever ever played Cheeseburger in Paradise ever again, it would be too soon!

I saw him live in New Orleans in December '99 and it was awesome. I wasn't as rabid of a fan then as I am now, so I wasn't able to sing along to everything. But now, I think I know every song of his! My boyfriend marvels at how a song can come up on the mp3 playlist and I know it by heart.

If you've never listened to his early stuff - give it a listen. Its soooooo much better than his over-commercialized self of today.

Check out http://www.cobo.org for the Church of Buffett, Orthodox. Its a great site!

I love Jimmy Buffet! I went to see him last summer in Manassas, VA. It rained almost the entire time, but we didn't care because it was an awesome concert. One of my friends goes every year, two or three times. I can't wait to go again.

Huge Parrothead here!! Just did my pilgrimage to Margaritaville in January! I didn't want to leave. For a little while, I even got the crazy notion of quitting my job and moving down there to tend bar.

Here's another one! My hubby and I love Jimmy B! Funny thing is, that my dad got me listening to him years and years ago - I could sing his songs when I was still a little thing (if I ever was "little"!)

So we just got a new boat -- we wanted to name it something buffety, but also my hubby wanted to name it after our niece. So we decided on "The Lady Kate" -- Kate for my Katie-bear, and "Lady" for the song "Treat her like a lady" which he is once again crooning over his beloved boat -- so we are really excited...we just need to go get the lettering picked out.

Don't you just LOVE the outfits people wear to the concerts. I love it! This one guy had a huge hat this year with a big margarita glass, some salt, and other buffety stuff glued to it. Way cute!

I've converted my mom to a parrothead. And I was converted by my boyfriend's roomate, who's parents are fans from so far back, they used to see him when he was just a folk singer playing little clubs in alabama

When I get my condo in Florida (not sure when...but hopefully sometime in the next 10 years) I'm going to name it St.Somewhere, after the line in the song "Boat Drinks"

LOL AXO Alum! That's how I got into Buffett, too! His music ALWAYS puts me in a better mood and sends me memories of when I was way young.

I have a pretty cool story for all you Parrotheads...My brother lives in Austin, Tx and about a year ago a local news reporter man showed up at his door asking to take some pictures of the place..When asking why the hell he would want to do that the reporter told him that about 20 years ago Jimmy was visiting a friend in that very apartment...She made Jimmy up a nice, cold Margarita and bam..Buffet went out on her balcony(which is now my brothers) and wrote Margaritaville...Honest to god true story...So theres a little Buffet history for ya

I'm a buffett fan myself. Been to see him 6 times. Not a whole lot compared to some people, but i'm only 23--so that dates to every year back into my high school days. I think that's pretty good! LOL

We always dress in bikini tops and grass skirts--I have a friend that used to have pics of one concert on the internet (well, pre-concert) . . . I'll have to see if I can find them.

Anyway:

1995--Buckeye Lake: Columbus, OH
1996--Buckeye Lake: Columbus, OH (last year Buckeye lake was open for concerts)
1997--Polaris Ampatheater: Columbus, OH
1998--Starlite Ampatheater (I think that's what it's called): Pittsburg, PA
1999--Riverbend: Cinncinatti, OH
2000--Riverbend: Cinncinatti, OH

I'm bummed, I can't go this year because he's playing on tuesday and thursday in Cinncinatti and I can't take vacation time because it's all being used for my wedding! But next year, I hope to make it up by going to 2 concerts!

Hey, my dad used to watch Jimmy in Alabama. Maybe they were at the same shows.
